beatlebones Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 I'm back in Thailand after 3 months abroad. Entered on a visa exemption (30 days) Now would like to do the old 30 day extension but saw some info saying that I require TM 30 doc completed by landlord etc. Is this really the case now ?? I didnt need it previously when I got the extension while staying on Koh Samui.?
Ohyesuare Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 Yes TM30 is a requirement, especially when doing extensions. Hotels do it when you check in and condo landlords/managers are supposed to do it within 24 hours of you checking in as well. You and the landlord can be fined if you show up to immigration and one hasn't been done. Probably got lucky in Koh Samui and got a IO that didn't care or didn't check if one was done.

beatlebones Posted August 9, 2023 Author Posted August 9, 2023 Nonthaburi Immigration. On top of the TM30 they also require Rental agreement Landlord ID, House Book and Title Deed of the apartment Every page of passport copied. All for a mere 30 day extension. 1

Those requirements are ridiculous. How many tourists having entered visa exempt and wanting a 30 day extension would be able to supply rental agreement. Nonthaburi is a rubbish office. One alternative is to check into a hotel in Bangkok making sure at time of check in they will in fact do a TM30 and provide a screenshot of that report. Note that having entered visa exempt you need to attend Laski immigration at IT mall. Not CW. There is a photocopy joint to left side. Appointments are available. Here is link. Select Laksi. https://www.immigration.go.th/?page_id=20131 Threads about process. https://aseannow.com/topic/1287846-extend-visa-exempt-at-laksi-without-an-appointment/ https://aseannow.com/topic/1294130-exempt-visa-extension-denied-because-of-no-tm-30/ 2 1
beatlebones Posted August 10, 2023 Author Posted August 10, 2023 Just did the Laksi (It Mall) extension...an absolute breeze!! Took a little over 30 mins though I did get there at 8.15AM ... there were probably about 15 other people. Quite a few were turned away at "Step 1" due to the fact that they were trying to extend 60 day visas...they were told to go to the Immigration on Chaengwattana. Didnt need the TM 30 ...and I didnt ask why. Thanks for the comments and recommendations.
