The Bang Sue Police Station has unveiled measures to tackle the problem of a group of individuals knocking on car windows, causing disturbance and inconvenience to the general public.

August 10, 2023, at the Bang Sue Police Station, Police Colonel Phuwadol Unpho, Superintendent of the Bang Sue Police Station, held a press conference to address the issue of people knocking on car windows and causing trouble and annoyance to the public.

This problem has been particularly prominent around the Department of Land Transport in Chomphon Subdistrict, Chatuchak District, Bangkok, reported INN.

In recent incidents, a gang on motorcycles approached cars and knocked on their windows. They posed as intermediaries for services like renewing registrations and transferring cars, receiving payments for these tasks after visiting the Department of Land Transport. After receiving numerous complaints through the Traffy Fondue platform, 10 individuals were apprehended and taken to Bang Sue Police Station for investigation.

These actions were deemed as bullying, threats, and annoying behaviors, leading to legal charges, fines, and records to prevent future incidents. However, some offenders persist despite fines imposed by the police. This ongoing issue negatively impacts residents in the area. As a result, Police Colonel Phuwadol Unpho is determined to find a decisive solution.

Police Colonel Phuwadol Unpho mentioned that in previous instances, the Bang Sue Police Station deployed officers to chase and address the situation. The usual fine for such disturbances is no more than 5000 baht, as per Criminal Code, Section 379. However, some offenders, claiming to be youths without means to pay, were given warnings and fined only 500 baht.

Yet, they continued their actions. To address this, the police will no longer be lenient. The fine will now be the full 5000 baht, and repeat offenders will be arrested. This stricter approach aims to curtail such repeated offenses in the future.
