Thailand’s Second Satellite “THEOS-2” Set to be Launch Soon

BANGKOK, Aug 17 (TNA) — THEOS-2, Thailand’s second satellite system for earth observation, is now complete and ready to be launched soon, according to Deputy Government Spokesperson Rachada Dhanadirek.

 

Ms Rachada, earlier this week, disclosed about the progress of THEOS-2, Thailand’s second satellite system for earth observation, designed and developed by the Thais through knowledge transfer and capacity building.

 

She said the assembly and testing of THEOS-2 is now complete.

From the linked article, it seems some junior vo-tec students were sent to NASA summer camp where they built a satellite out of macaroni and glitter, and soon the French will put it atop a rocket to stick it on the fridge.

From above nasty comment come the need to ask if there was a problem with Theos-1 for  people? Theos-1 life is schedule to end 2023 . Purpose of Theo-2 to extend observation/analysis of Thailand on ownership of full information . Not part information pay through nose for from NASA  etc !

Complainers will complain, bashers will bash... why can't Thailand try to progress in some areas? How does it harm the average pathetic keyboard warrior on this forum? Money can be spent in better ways? Surely that is the case also in a certain superpower, with zillions of homeless or poverty-line citizens and yet a very active successful space program. Or consider India, a major player in space while hundreds are killed in single train accidents.
