The Thai people call them farang kee nok, I call them wasters. These are the overaged males who sit round all day drinking whisky, riding their motorbikes around late at night and harassing other people. They don't want to work and probably never will.

Luckily, there are none in my wife's family but the advice I give others is to have a word with the local immigration department when it comes time for their visa renewal, 10,000-20,000 baht can give a couple of years peace.

Also, if there are any woman out there who are contemplating marriage to a farang, who already hs a male teenage son DON'T do it!

Does anyone have any other ways to deal with these people?

Sarcasm Concluded... (yes im aware i spelled male wrong, thanks for the heads up, lol)

I waste mail all the time. If it doesn't interest me, I bin it. Junk mail, store advertisements etc :o

Just kidding, but I have noticed quite a few Farangs guys, out and about, who probably fit the bill. But not nearly as many as I see Thai guys. Infact, there are a few Thai male wasters in my girlfriends family.

neither original nor amusing parody, just a copy of bendix's stray farangs lurking the sois thread.

You're being a bit too harsh. We all grow old at some point. How old people spend the remainder of their lives is up to them (as long as they're not harassing others).

I pretty much agree with Graceless Fawn. But some of the guys you are talking about really do annoy others. Maybe they worked hard and now they are enjoying their wealth now though. Not everyone in the world wants to live for money. Some people think that working for 'the man' will get you nowhere. There are a lot of poor guys dying in southern Thailand and Iraq so that rich people who don't pay their workers well can live even better lives.

Anyways why force them to go into military? Did it do wonders for yourself?

Interesting comment. Most of the farang I know consider Thai women to be the real driving force in Thailand, and that most Thai men are a waste of DNA. Politically incorrect iI know but many of my friends think that the only real role for most Thai men is to keep the sperm warm.

In general I love most Thai women, I distrust and am disdainful of most Thai men who resemble peacocks to me more than anything else. But there is a flip side.

Some time ago a German businessman told me (and others) that in Thailand are to be found the dregs of European society. I was frankly offended at the time but since then I paid more attention to the westerners here. Sadly, among the many fine Europeans here, there are many whom I wish would enjoy themselves somewhere else. 60+ year-old men with 16-year-old tarts hanging off their arm probably shouldn't offend but they do. As do the beer-swilling ex-pat and the on-hols football hooligans.

Maybe it is just me getting old and curmudgeonly.

Personally, I think many people find it easy to hate another person, Thai, farang or martian. Its easy to then look and pick the reasons for the hatred but the real reason, is IMO, the person who is doing the hating has real emotional and mental issues.

Okay, I'll bite... after all, it is another superb post; this time about 'overaged' men. My sympathies to the OP's family.

Uh oh. Guess I'm in trouble then, because I hate EVERYBODY !

But at least I hate them all equally. No discrimation based on age/gender/religion/or extraterrestial origins ! :o

I couldn't understand from reading the OP whether he was lamenting farang or Thai males in their lazy-assed roles. In a way, it hardly matters, as there are low-lifers of all ethnic stripes. I live alone and am not obliged to have to accept anyone. I can understand that some farang are shacked up with Thai women where a bunch of added scenarios get dumped on the farang - that he's compelled to deal with, or he may simply be compelled to pack up and move away solo. For example: her brother is down and out and needs a place to crash - then another brother, or sister or uncle or who-knows-who shows up - ratcheting up the number of people living in the place. I know a farang here in the country, who keeps adding cabins and expanding his house, because family and acquaintances of his Thai wife keep showing up needing help. And yes, I've heard many variations of the farang who's literally moved out of house and home, sometimes with a bang, sometimes with a whimper - with his tail between his legs and his wallet thinner than his maxed-out credit card.

Hmmmm.....

1st (in another thread) Thai male wasters

Then the parody; Farang Old Guy male wasters.

I hate to sound harsh (and I know this thread was meant as a humorous sarcasm/joke on the original), but;

Who Really Cares?

There will always be "wasters", ne'r-do-wells, etc.

They just make up a certain percentage of the human race, just like people with addictive behavior, or people who's pi*s smells when they eat asparagas.

So who cares? I'm not impressed with Mr. 10 Million $ Beachfront Villa, and I'm not disturbed by Mr. Worthless.

Let them live in their "Own Private Idaho"..... :o

I seldom get Farang mail. Most of mine is Thai mail. Am I doing something wrong?

Only because you are asking: yes, you are doing something wrong. You are not understanding the erroneously-spelt title correctly. A farang mail waster is not a person who wastes farang mail. It is a person, a farang, who wastes mail. For the title to have the meaning you have given it, it would have to be a “farang-mail waster”. See how much difference a hyphen, respectively its absence, can make?

Aside from that, the text of the OP made it quite clear that “male” was meant, not “mail”. (Not that the OP makes any sense to me. Why should an over-aged person join the army? Over what age, anyway? Over the age of retirement? You are all feeding a troll, in case you have not noticed.)

If we must explore semantics here, I read it with hyphens as follows:

Farang-mail = mail to farangs

Mail-waster = waster of mail.

Now then...........................what was the point anyway?

Bloody daft thread.

I guess the underlying sarcasm & elusive humour in this thread escape me. Therefore I must be "dense". Professor Clump to ground control......

Perhaps you all missed the recent thread "Thai Male Wasters" which I simply copied, inserted the word "Farang" instead of "Thai" and reposted. The point? Well aside from the fact that I can't spell male (which I pointed out in the op), there are so many of these threads that are so ridiculous, in their blatent generalizations, that they just beg to have themselves turned on their heads.

If that was too subtle for you lot, I apologize, lol.

I agree with you jbowman, the forum is full of this complete rubbish these days, Its interesting how the Thai version got allot of support while this one is shot down. There also seems to be one or two posters in particular who have a deep hatred of Thai people (or perhaps just Thai males for example), I can’t understand why these people have been allowed to spout their mass generalizations (which almost cross the racism line) and get away with it. One has to wonder sometimes why exactly they are here? I’m beginning to suspect they may be just trolling though.

EDIT: Pheeew, my faith has been restored. Sorry mods, I only just realised the offending member has been banned. Keep up the good work. :o

Well Jbow, if you were trying to be humorous, you seem to have failed. If you were trying to make a point (albeit humorously), you could have done a far better job of it. If that point was to indicate that some people are racist - it is a point that does not need to be made (it doesn't take long to work out which BMs are racists). 'nuff said...
