Kasikorn tell me that I can only register a Thai mobile number. When you are outside of Thailand and you want to make a transaction with K-Bank, what do you do when it asks you for confirmation with SMS? I have my phone with True and when I go outside of Thailand I have no coverage. I don't know how people solve this problem. Does anyone have a solution for this? If anyone has a solution for this I would appreciate it.

Go into True menu on the phone itself under "contacts" scroll down and you'll see "Roaming on" and "Roaming off"

Just click on the first and it takes about 15 minutes to become active

Having a past experience with True, even when Sim Data is OFF, some spam messages can go thru and empty the account when travelling. Switched to 3BB and not so many issues....yet.

To use your phone abroad for the first time (activate International Roaming)

1. Call TrueMove H Care 1242 and inform our specialist

2. Dial *9399 (only for TrueMove H postpaid customers)

3. Visit TrueMove H Shop and True Shop

IR activation will be completed within 24 hours.

For TrueMove H postpaid customers with less than 3 months of billing cycle, you can activate at TrueMove H Shop and True Shop by bringing supporting documents (for more information, please call 1242).

Switch data off as above to prevent your credit being used up.

Turn off Sim data for that phone though or it'll empty the account very quickly. That wont effect inbound SMS though

Thank you for your reply, Chivas

The same thing happened to me once, they emptied my entire balance.

If your phone has wifi calling the Thai sim works outside of Thailand without roaming on or being charges roaming fees

My wife's TruMove sim works in USA on wifi calling

Same is true the other way round...I use a AT&T sim in Thailand with just wifi calling no roaming or charges

That's what we are saying. Only if post paid. If you have prepay sim card with TRUE, that you top up on internet, they continue sending absurd SMS and each time you loose money when abroad even when you use save Data.

Again, these are SPAM SMS from a third party. If you note any charges from SMS services to which you have not subscribed, contact Truemove H. They will block the source and refund you.

You can turn mobile data OFF within the handset.

You can turn mobile data OFF within the network. Turn off data via USSD service by dialing *113*2 # Call or *106 # Call

Receiving SMSes anywhere is free of charge.

You'll need to enable international roaming, and have a handset which supports the local roaming partner's frequencies, and have coverage.

Are you prepaid or postpaid.

If prepaid I think you have to contact TrueMove H directly, although that option may be buried in the True i Service mobile app.

In theory Native (not an app) VoWiFi should work.

The cell phone number I have with True is prepaid. I'm going to install the application of True to see... The truth is that I don't know whether to buy a prepaid sim card with the company AIS. I have heard good things about the application of AIS. Maybe with AIS everything will be simpler and everything can be done more simply from the application...

Why do you think that you need a mobile network application? You are just over complicating the matter. Follow the instructions to activate IR and to turn Internet data off at the source on your departure from Thailand. That’s all. Truemove H is better in that you can extend it indefinitely whilst abroad as long as you have a credit balance. 15 baht for 180 added days. With AIS you need to do 6 x 20 baht top ups via your online bank account to achieve the same whilst abroad.

You are right NextG, I had not thought about recharges. I have installed the TrueiService app and am still investigating it. Maybe it's best to stick with True. Thanks for your help NextG.

In case it helps anyone, I have asked in the True shop what to do when the advertising messages arrive. They tell me that what they do when it happens to someone is dial *137 and the call button. And once inside the call, press the number 4 several times. They have not told me exactly how many times, but they tell me that they do it exactly like this and all advertising messages are cancelled. In case it helps anyone...
