Popular Post GammaGlobulin
Why Do People Find It so Titillating to Roast and Be Roasted? Is this just an American pastime, roasting and being roasted? Is roasting and being roasted a western thing? Why do we enjoy so much having our feet metaphorically held to the fire in a public setting? Obama loved being roasted and roasting. The guy he loved to roast most was probably Trump. And Trump loved to be roasted by Obama. As for me, I don’t think I would much enjoy being roasted “face to face” with my roaster. Although, just reading my roasting might be perfectly OK with me. So what about you? And is this a cultural thing? Do you think a public roasting would be appreciated in Asian culture as much as American culture, if, for example, the Asians were taught properly how to “get into it”? Do you have any good examples of a good roasting on UTUBE in which the roaster does an outstanding job using the complexities of the English language, for all it’s worth? Wit is crucial for a good roasting. And, if you don’t have a good command of the English language, then you might as well not even attempt a roast. One should never roast someone who is perceived to be weaker, obviously. Trump never thought of himself as being weak, and so his roasting was perfectly acceptable, and everyone had a good time, even Trump. Any more good roasting examples? Besides this one....? 1 2
Ralf001
Roasting is fun, I personally avoid roasting people where "Face" is involved.... that be a good way to end up dead.
LaosLover
A roast is just about the lowest, cheapest form of show biz, maybe a step above rodeo clowns. Get a bunch of has-been comedians to crack predictable jokes about another has-been. Splice in implausibly overwrought, hysterical laughing from the various dead weight participants. Dean Martin, the laziest person ever in show biz, had the stupidest roasts. But this format has been almost completely dead for at least 30 years. Next up: Gamma ponders why the Love Boat wasn't filmed on an actual boat. Or: Gilligan's Island -why did The Professor keep pushing Ginger away? Was Gilligan his intended end-game all along? Of course. I agree. Roasting is embarrassing. Hence, I used the word titillating, not humorous. Speaking of American TV, I rarely watched the programming before 1979, and never after. But would you care to ponder upon Mary Hartman, the initial episodes? About American film, what are your thoughts, if any, about BABY DOLL? Back to Topic... Roasting, the culture in which you find it, is one of the reasons I left America to live my life in East Asia. Never going back. You can keep your westerners and the Farang you so often find there, as well as the Farang you increasingly find here. But, Baby Doll? Malden seems to have the Hots for girls young enough to be his daughter. Why is that, one might ponder... And, in the end, he tries to roast the town...
Popular Post thaibeachlovers
I thought this was a thread about spitroasting. Sadly it isn't. Might have been good for a laugh. 1 1

Will she ever recover?

Please ponder this: Old Man spies on young girl sucking thumb... What does it all MEAN? Human sexuality is so inexplicable. Sorry that I can't find the ROASTING Clip in Baby Doll... Yet! Will post when I find it, of course.

BritManToo
You're the one posting the silly threads that nobody wants to read. I assumed it was some sort of attention seeking disorder.

How do I start my new poll? And, will you vote in this poll if I am able to start it? Great! (Normally, I do not like polls. I have never even clicked on a TV poll. What if my poll is ignored? What then?) 1

If he did there might be no reason to continue the pub. Not many threads worth responding to since ladyboys and hookers stopped being talked about much.

I just wonder, as Animal Farm continues to evolve, will Gamma become just another Snowball, and meet the same fate, including attack by guard dogs, and misinterpretation of intent, by the animals, of Gamma's past, present, and future?
