I don't know if it would work for you, but I used to have a migraine attack about once a week. Just the coloured lights, very rarely a headache. I lived with it until I had an attack whilst driving on the motorway, when I was virtually blind on my left-hand side. A friend recommended daily Cardiprin tablets which contain 100mg Aspirin. Since I started taking them, a couple of years ago, I can count the number of attacks on one hand. The result has been nothing short of miraculous. Not for people who bleed easily. sikishrory
I get migraines a few times a year where my vision goes shimmery and I can't see clearly. When it happens I can't drive or work and have to just stop and wait it out. It doesn't affect my speech. It's followed by a headache. I saw a doctor about it a few years ago. He said it was called migraine with aura. Googling hemiplegic it kind of sounds similar except a little worse. I read aspirin stops it. The last time I got it at work I took an aspirin immediately and timed it. It took 16 minutes to fix it. Was basically normal afterwards. Now I take aspirin with me everywhere as in the past it has happened and I basically just had to pullover and wait an hour for it to pass. It also says in Google it's an emergency thing and your should go to hospital (hemiplegic).
JBChiangRai
Sumatriptan works for me, it takes an hour to kick in. Available here, but expensive.
scubascuba3
Hemiplegic Migraines sound scary, my bog standard migraines are mostly over in 30 mins, aura, often no pain now, groggy for hours after but i don't bother with meds
natway09
Just in case you have not tried, I had bad migraines for many years with the whole box & dice, vomiting, dizzy, horrific headache, needed a dark suffer room for 24 hours etc. Went for a consultation with a forward thinking Dr & ended up having 3 sessions on a body stretching machine 4 days apart. Last 2 days extended stretch & all sorts of cracking in my upper back & neck. Never had a migraine since (26 years)
