Maha Sarakham has a new icon, and it's making waves on social media. A Facebook user posted a photo in a Maha Sarakham group, revealing the province's new landmark, "Phaya Naka Spews Water," before it became the center of attention for netizens.

The caption read, "After waiting for 100 million and 8 years, Maha Sarakham finally has Phaya Naka Spews Water." Accompanied by the hashtags #NewLandmark and laughter emojis, the post quickly went viral, reported Sanook.

The stunning image showcases the golden Phaya Naka sculpture adorned with intricate designs, attracting tourists for photo opportunities.

Following the viral post, debates erupted online. Some questioned whether this artwork, rumored to cost 100 million Baht and take eight years to complete, was genuine. The owner of the post confirmed,

"The 100 million was for beautifying the city, from canal banks to the Sarakham Hospital, spanning a decade. The actual artwork cost was less. As for the city's appearance, it's already 80% complete, and once it's finished, it will be even more beautiful."

Questions linger about the true value and timeline of this artwork, awaiting clarification from relevant authorities.
