Transfer Of Ownership

Recommended Posts

I'm going to buy a condo soon. The Thai seller obviously wants to underreport the selling price at the Land Department to save on taxes. Would you say that this, in the future, could pose questions on the legality of my ownership and should therefore be on all costs be avoided?

Thanks for your informed opinions.

I don't think it will cause you any problems at all. But if it does concern you, then offer to pay the difference in taxes from the "Assessed Value" and the actual "Sale Price" and quote the full price.

The only time that I think it would be prudent to pay taxes on the full sale price, would be if you wanted to transfer your money out of Thaialnd after you sell your property to the next person, then you can quote the full sale price.
