Prime Minister Thavisin said Thailand will strengthen trade ties with the United States as the two countries mark 190 years of diplomatic relations, He was speaking after a meeting with President Biden at the US-Asean Business Council  in New york.

 

Passengers on a BTS skytrain were shocked when a train pulled out of a station with one of the doors wide open, a video of the incident went viral and people questioned the safety of the service. 


Operator of the sky train apologized stating there was a technical problem with the door, without further explanation.

 

Tourism operators have welcomed the prime minister's commitment to eradicating recreational cannabis consumption within the next six months. They say that unregulated cannabis shops have had a negative impact on tourism.


A former Thai minister disagrees with Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin's plan to loan a giant panda from Beijing, citing unsuitable conditions in Thailand for the endangered species. The minister suggested that pandas are better off in their native habitat. Srettha made the request for a panda ahead of his upcoming China visit, but a leading conservationist suggests funds could be better spent supporting local animals such as elephants.

 

The ministry of labour aims to send 100,000 skilled workers overseas next year, the department aims to see placements in countries such as Sweden, Finland, Israel, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan, and others.


The department opened a hotline and website for thai workers wishing to obtain employment overseas..

 Indonesia has deported 153 Chinese nationals for involvement in an online romance scam ring that defrauded hundreds of victims in their home country.


The suspects, including five women, were arrested last month on the island of  Batam, near Singapore, 
Police said the scammers had been operating since early this year by entering Indonesia using tourist visas.
