A Chinese man and a Taiwanese man have been arrested in Pattaya for allegedly attempting to steal information from other people’s ATM cards.

Investigators from the Pattaya Police Station and Royal Thai Immigration raided a room on the sixth floor of a hotel (name withheld) on Soi Bungalow 999, Naklua sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province, on September 28th.

They arrested two foreign men named Zhang Qiyu, a 28-year-old of Chinese nationality, and Chiu Yung-Sheng, a 41-year-old of Taiwanese nationality. The two suspects were apprehended under suspicion of attempting to steal other people’s ATM cards information with a skimmer.

According to the arresting police, they were informed by a bank in Pattaya that the bank’s maintenance team had discovered a skimming device attached to an ATM machine at the entrance of Pattaya Walking Street on September 25th.

This led Pattaya Police to review CCTV footage of the ATM machine, in which they found two suspicious men seemingly compromising the machine.

if the current government want to sow people they mean business then we need tolal transparency - as for now these thieves  will never be heard of again - in fact they will likely be doing it again with a little help

we see the corruption figures published  world wide - how Thailand doesn't take the top spot or near it is beyond understanding, the corruption is off the scale here it really is shocking

While China and Taiwan can't seem to get along, Chines and Taiwanese people can. There might still be hope....

This is a severe crime, put them in jail.

More free visas!

For far too long the Thai government has lauded Chinese tourists as if they are some kind of mannna from heaven. It is getting ridiculous just how many of these reported crimes are perpetrated by Chinese citizens. They don't know whow to behave properly and have dreadful social skills as a rule.

Manna from heaven? Just some good manners would be a start.

Time to turn the screw on these grifters.

The people of Taiwan are Chinese . When it benefits them to align with mainland China they will. All China has to do is wait and it will be theirs for free. All the American guns and bombs will not make a difference.

Please tell the when and how of it being a benefit for Taiwan to give up democracy and dependence for dictatorship and gross mismanagement? When heck freezes over? Maybe if "one government" meant mainland adopted Taiwan's government, not other way around. What is this about American guns and bombs? Absurd. Have you ever been to Taiwan? Do you know any Taiwanese? They want to be part of mainland China about as much as Ukraine wants to be part of Russia.

Wake up and smell the coffee

Nobody likes the Chinese, and if you have ever spent time there like myself, it's not difficult to see why.

whats your opinion on the cause of the repulsive behavior?

is it a product of overcrowding, or poverty, or competitive culture?

i saw a chinese guy in a very busy eatery recently. he intentionally left a dirty napkin by the serving  plates in an obvious location and also asked a bunch of stupid questions of the main cook as he exited. he did it to give them a hard time and too waste time. theres no way thats cultural.
