Thai E-visa Canada - Processing Time?

Featured Replies

What's the average number of business days it takes the Embassy in Ottawa to process a SETV?

In the past they've been really slow and I doubt that's changed.

Thanks

I applied for mine on 16 May 2023 and obtained it  on 16 June 2023.

I was flying out on 29 June 2023.

My backup plan was to buy an airplane ticket ($60) to fly from BKK to Vientiane on July 27 and not going. I would have done a one month extension at immigration at the end of July.

Whoa, 1 month.  How is that even possible?  I assume they're deliberately slowing down the process for whatever reason.

Many thanks for the info

The embassy in Ottawa has posted 20 business days turn around time on their website. I applied Sept 26 and waiting, but its only been 7 business days so far. I fly out Oct 29 so hoping it arrives this time. Last year I had to arrive on a visa arrival and finally received my evisa 3 weeks after I landed. Ended up costing me the price of an extra extension of stay to finish my trip.

I remember the good ole’ days of being able to walk into the LA consulate and get a Non-O multiple entry visa with next day turnaround. Now its 15 business day’s minimum and thats for e-visa. For tourists who want to stay longer then visa exempt, surely its a major turnoff and just opens up more doors for other neighboring countries to get that tourism spend.
