When I read the RT headline, I thought it was crazy.  Celine Dion would never...

Reading the article and doing a little Binging (since Google's blocked here), it's even crazier.

Can any Canucks explain how this whackadoodle isn't in jail for inciting violence?

from the linked article....

Romana Didulo, a leading Canadian QAnon figure with an alleged history of encouraging her followers to shoot health-care workers, was taken into custody by the RCMP’s national security team in Victoria, B.C.

Good catch, but which article?  Because the most recent (RT article from yesterday) says: “We are aware of the presence of a group sometimes referred to as the Kingdom of Canada,” Tyler Bates, commander of Saskatchewan RCMP’s South District, was cited as saying. The official noted that there were a number of calls related to “this group’s presence in the community over the last two weeks or so.”

Is she in the slammer and her followers doing her bidding?

you posted the links. nothing in your quote indicates she was there. only that the group was there.

You know what happens when I make assumptions...   I was hoping to get some Canuck insights.

BTW, that article you quoted was from 2021.

My point being that the Vice article from 2022 says she wasn't locked up in 2022. Speaking in a Quebec campground parking lot on May 24,

And the RT article from yesterday said   Leader of group, seen as a cult, sent warning letters urging residents to “be forewarned and prepared” as locals try to remove them

Which would lead me to believe she's not currently banged up.

Where is "here"?  The googles works fine in Korat.

As to the queen, still at large.

She claims to be the Queen of Canada, and now she's holding court in an abandoned school.

On September 13, the small quiet town of Richmound, Saskatchewan, had its world turned upside down when Romana Didulo—a woman who has convinced a sizeable group of people she’s the true Queen of Canada—and a group traveling with her rolled into town took up residence in an abandoned school.

But this is nothing serious, merely death threats.

She hasn't done anything extremist, you know, like protesting and honking the horns.

I'm currently in China, anxiously waiting on my Thursday flight to BKK.

That's why this piqued my interest.  Honk your horn and your bank account gets locked.  Threaten, and call on your followers to kill health care workers, and she's free to go on.

China.  You'll need a VPN to access the intertubes.

Not illegal, but discouraged.

Strongly discouraged nowadays.  A couple of days after I got here, my GF got a phone call from the security department of her ISP.  They said someone on her account is using a VPN and that needs to stop.  So I stopped.  Not worth the risk in today's environment.  Before Covid, I used one all the time.
