First time I went there with a Canadian friend 40 years ago we paid 100 baht for a bamboo bungalow on the main beach. No door , no windows no bed , no mattress ....no nothing !! Totally made fom bamboo and thatch. No electricity or water. Just a small generator for the 1 cook house and washing in the sea. Nowadays i think better options on the opposite mainland.
