Pattaya Teen Rescues Depressed Woman trying to Drown Herself

A 17-year-old Thai teen rescued a suicidal woman after witnessing her walking into the Pattaya sea in an attempt to harm herself early this morning.

 

The incident was reported to Pattaya police at 3:30 AM today, October 23rd, on Pattaya Beach close to Soi Pattaya 9, Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province. Emergency responders, Pattaya police, and The Pattaya News promptly rushed to the scene.

 

Upon arrival, authorities discovered a 24-year-old Thai woman identified only as Ms. Rattanaporn. Her last name was withheld by The Pattaya News to protect her privacy. She was found in tears on the beach, with a crowd of tourists observing the situation.

It used to be said that in China, if you saved a person's life, they were your responsibility from that time on.  Whether true or not, I know not.

...yes, indeed, 3:30 am is very early even for a suicide! i wonder if she came out of a bar and was intoxicated. hats off to the teenager!

Maybe she had just left the police station which is very close by to where she was rescued.

I bloody hope that's not the case in Thailand, as I saved 4 Thai men from drowning and the 8yo girl who they thought they could rescue.

Probably filming her with their phones also in order to post and get "likes/follows" on their social media pages, sad world we live in now. On the other hand, it's great that he saved her, and I hope she can get help, get over whatever the problem is and move forward with her life.
