Dengue fever is a clear and present danger for tropical countries, including Thailand. Over the past year cases and deaths have increased up to three-fold. Parts of the north east and south have been particularly badly hit recently.

Thailand’s New Year public holidays announced

The Thai cabinet announced four New Year public holidays today (Tuesday), from December 29th through January 1st, 2024, said Dr. Prommin Lertsuridej, secretary-general of the Office of the Prime Minister.

Police told to be cautious as escaped convict is believed to be armed

Health Min Pursuing Comprehensive Cancer Care as Key 2024 Policy

BANGKOK (NNT) - The Ministry of Public Health and partner networks are raising cancer awareness among women, especially for cervical cancer and breast cancer. The ministry intends to kick off a human papillomavirus vaccine or HPV vaccination campaign for females aged 11 to 20 years in November, with the aim being to vaccinate 1 million persons.

A deadly minivan crash resulted in one fatality and left 15 individuals injured in the Sang Kha district of Surin, northeast Thailand. The incident unfolded on Sunday on No. 24 Road (Chokchai – Det-U-Dom Road) in Baan Santisuk, situated within the Phra Kaew sub-district. Emergency services swiftly arrived at the scene where they discovered an upturned minivan by the roadside.

Patong Baywatch resumes night patrols, enhancing safety at popular Thai beach

Thai man busted with 5 kilos of methamphetamine ‘ice’ hidden under car chassis

A Thai man was arrested for concealing 5 kilogrammes of methamphetamine, also known as ice, in a hidden compartment under the chassis of his vehicle. The suspect, identified as 37 year old Phutthinan, also known as Gift, from Hat Yai, Songkhla, claimed to be a tourist. However, police were suspicious and had his vehicle examined by a mechanic who discovered the hidden compartment.
