Mike Johnson has accused Biden of bribery. Now impeachment is in his hands

House Republicans are approaching their Biden impeachment inquiry with renewed vigor following the election of Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), who has cautioned against rushing an investigation even as he’s previously accused the president of bribery.

As Speaker, Johnson has stressed a reserved approach to impeachment, invoking the founders in calling it the “heaviest power that we have,” while saying he has no predetermined outcome.

But as a prominent voice of the House Judiciary Committee, he was vocal in criticizing President Biden, at one point saying bribery is “what happened here.”

House Republicans have failed to demonstrate that Biden took a bribe — an allegation that surfaced as a result of a conversation with a Ukrainian oligarch that came to the FBI in a tip the bureau was unable to verify.

The White House has vigorously denied any wrongdoing by Biden and noted that even as Republicans have pored over the business dealings of his brother and son, they’ve failed to connect the president to their work overseas.

But as Johnson takes the helm from a former Speaker who at times seemed reluctant to pursue the matter, he said last week the House would soon have to determine how to move forward with an investigation shared across three committees.

“I do believe that very soon we are coming to a point of decision on it,” he said Thursday.

What exactly did Trump do to clean the swamp? As for Biden, he expanded the childhood tax credit so that childhood poverty fell in half. He made Obamacare much more affordable by passing a tax on

Someone will step into Trump’s shoes when the GOP admit Trump isn’t fit to be allowed out in public alone.

Johnson thinks he’s the man, and he might well be, he has all the extremist rightwing credentials.

While an investigation is a good idea, an impeachment would not result in conviction as long as the senate has a Dem majority.

Wait till after the election and it may have changed.

Don’t fall for the theater.

There’s no impeachment investigation, that can only take place if approved by a vote of Congress.

Oh go on then, fall for the theater, enjoy being played.

Impeachment does not even pass the smell test in the House and GOP senates echoed that sentiment. Their message to the House Maga folks “ stop the distraction and get back to work”. Maybe you should heed the GOP senate advice and stop distracting.

One problem is that this guy is a nutter, but so deep into it that he doesn't realize he is a nutter.

The above to questions are inseparably linked.

Johnson is simply trying to placate the extremists with the feigned insistence that he’s going to do what they want.

When he fails to deliver they’ll oust him.

I suggest Joe's impeachment is just a Trump pipe dream.

According to Davis Weiss, Comer's IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley was only 'blowing smoke'.

'U.S. Special Counsel David Weiss, who is leading the probe into President Joe Biden's son Hunter Biden, told the Republican-led House Judiciary Committee on Tuesday that he faced no political interference in a nearly seven-hour interview, contradicting earlier whistleblower testimony'.

Hillary called half the countries citizens "DEPLORABLES"... The Hateful 8 calls them "NUTTERS"... in their minds anyone who has an outlook or opinion different than theirs is not to be tolerated... so much for unity

Yes, their ntolerance is shameful. Why can't they emulate the temperament, the geniality, the warmth, the kindness, and the inclusiveness of the leading Republican candidate? What did they see in the leading Democratic candidate who calls opponents human scum and regularly castigates all of those who criticize him in any way whatsoever? How could they even imagine that's such a creature deserves to be President?

Your response is sooo predictable... so playground name calling at it's finest... bbbut Johnny did it first... whatever the other person is doing should have no bearing on what a mature adult should do... stand up be a leader for unity and peace.

Honest Hillary actually said:

'To just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right?” Clinton said. “The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic—you name it.'

Blind Freddie and in fact anyone who can read a dictionary, can see that the 'racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic' aka the 'DEPLORABLES' are those who have the mindset that 'anyone who has an outlook or opinion different than theirs is not to be tolerated'.

And to be on topic, I would suggest that MAGA Mike also seems to exhibit those same characteristics.

Also, facts and accuracy do not seem to be your friend, Hillary did not call 'half the countries citizens "DEPLORABLES", it was 'half of Trump’s supporters'.

For the record, which half of Trump's supporter demographic are you in?

The vote was pretty much half and half... so yes she called those that voted for Trump "deplorables"

My alignment shouldn't matter... but as I have stated many times Trump is a narcissistic ahole who makes it very hard to like him as a person... but the rest of the swamp are so corrupt that enough people liked him against Hillary to get him elected... When will the democrapts do something good for Americans now that they have been in the whitehouse for three years?  To everyone but the deniers inflation is out of control... immigration is a shxtstorm... foreign countries laugh at our policies... and the list goes on and on... Biden under Obama's hand has misfired completely and now even they aren't getting along.

Johnson is a Rightwing Christian Extremist.

It’s not bigotry to recognize Johnson’s religiously motivated bigotry, but go ahead, make your list.

I look forward to hearing more about why he, his wife and their children don’t have bank accounts, and where the money went he was collecting for that ‘Christian Law School’ that never got built.

Yet another Trumper in denial. Everyday you post your support for Trump and his propaganda. Now you called him an ahole.

Your deletion of my reference link with the quote and date didn't go unnoticed.

Hillary made that comment at an election fund raiser before the election, so it wasn't 'those who voted for Trump'.

And it was only half of the Trump supporters not half of the voters she said that were 'racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic'.

I suggest that most countries even more so the US, have inflation under control with sensible fiscal policies, both Dems and GOP need to address Immigration and most countries are laughing at Trump/ and GOP policies.

Hillary didn’t call half the country deplorables, just the minority that supported Trump’s hate mongering.

And she was right.
