The remains of five more Thai nationals in Israel have been identified, bringing the death toll since the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7 to 39, according to the Thai embassy in Tel Aviv.

The embassy said it had received updated information from Israeli officials, informing them that five sets of remains, which had not previously had their identities confirmed, are now confirmed to be those of Thai nationals.

Four other Thais are still in two hospitals in Israel, three identified as Manote Seethong, Wanchai Monsena and Pichitchai Prathana. 25 Thais are being held hostage in Gaza.

Murdered and kidnapped Thai's lives don't matter to the Thai government or the Thai public, not one word of condemnation from the the Thai government or even a single protests by the Thai people to show sympathy with the lost ones, why? do Thai people not care about those innocent agriculture workers who were murders by a the terrorist Hamas not even belonging to conflict? and what about those who were taken as hostages? Shame Thailand, Shame...

Like road deaths... these things will pass.

I agree completely. It is a matter of shame for the Thai government. It would of course argue that discretion is best when negotiating for the release of hostages through back channels (not that I believe this for a moment).Personally I feel the lack of interest in the media and among the Bangkok middle class more keenly. We've seen it before of course - the disdain for unimportant agricultural workers.

Have I got this wrong? Is there even one prominent public figure who is speaking out?

Not likely, with a large Muslim population in Thailand, could it that the government sits on their hands and say/do noting to to irate the Thai Muslims, or other countries that support the Hamas or those who simply hate Jews and Israel?

Overall, I get more and more the impression that it is because of their culture, they simply believe in an afterlife, and for that reason they are less attached to the present than we are.

Reincarnation depending on how you have behaved relates to what you come back as.

Hamas and the other terrorist gangs in Gaza are the kilmlers. I would not link them too strongly to the general population of Gaza.

I have to wonder if some of these terrorists are all from Gaza, mioght be some imports from other parts.

One has to wonder where the Majority of ISIS fled to after US troops liberated Mosul in 2017...  Syria and Gaza is quite a strong bet.

As with other regional areas with extremely violent militants in the area, those of a 'gentler nature' are silenced and scared and those of a weak mind become indoctrinated and influenced.

It was reported that the body of Shani Louk, a German Jewish Girl who was abducted raped and murdered was paraded through Gaza on the back of a pickup truck while Hamas supporters spat her body... Certainly not the actions of morally well guided balanced community.
