No corruption uncovered in overweight truck accident : source

The police investigation into an incident in which a truck fell into a hole on a Bangkok road last week found nothing to indicate that bribery of police was involved, an informed source has said.

 

The ten-wheel truck, which was found to be loaded beyond the legal weight limit, had a sticker with the letter “B” on the windshield.

 

It was widely claimed that the sticker was an indicator that a bribe had already been paid, so that the truck could operate in the capital beyond permitted hours and overloaded.

 

Pol Gen Torsak Sukvimol, the national police chief, assigned the police inspector general to launch an investigation into the claim of bribery, vowing to take legal and disciplinary actions against any police officers who are found to be involved in taking bribes.

The Royal Thai Police. Cementing their corruption. Abject lying remains in place for all to see. Sticker on the windshield allowing overweight trucks to pass. Truck is weighed and is overweight and stuck in a hole leading to a massive traffic jam that inconvenienced thousands. But its all cool. Beyond belief

The hubris would be hillarious if the corruption involved in such issues didn't directly cost peoples lives.
