The Doi Mae U-Kor mountain is currently attracting a throng of tourists eager to admire the sprawling fields of blooming Mexican sunflowers.

These golden blooms, stretching across 500 acres of hillside, have become a significant draw for visitors, both Thai and international. It is expected that the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) will receive no less than 100,000 visitors this winter, eager to experience this natural spectacle.

Thara Chom-Samrong-Lert, the head of Mae U-Kor Subdistrict Administrative Organization in Khun Yuam District, Mae Hong Son Province, revealed that the Mexican sunflowers on Doi Mae U-Kor in Mae U-Kor Subdistrict, Khun Yuam District, Mae Hong Son Province are now in full bloom, covering more than 500 acres of hillside at an altitude exceeding 1,600 metres.

Every day, approximately 300 to 400 tourists are making the journey to appreciate this natural wonder. Visitors can choose either day-trips or overnight stays at the Sunflower Fields National Park. This area is recognised as the largest and most beautiful wild flower field in Thailand, handpicked as a must-visit destination by the TAT.
