Packed with tax incentives and cutting-edge technology, this plan is set to reshape Thailand’s urban landscape. During his address at the Thailand Smart City Expo, Commerce Minister Phumtham Wechayachai catapulted Thailand into a new era of urban development. Unveiling the Smart City Plan as a cornerstone of the 13th national economic and social development plan, Phumtham, also serving as the deputy prime minister in charge of the economy, positioned smart cities as a national priority. The minister of commerce outlined that smart cities will harness the power of Big Data to enhance public life and address day-to-day challenges faced by citizens. With 36 municipalities across 25 provinces already certified as smart cities, Thailand is gearing up for a transformative urban revolution. Digital Economy and Society Minister Prasert Chanthararuangthong shared insights into the strategic collaboration between the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA) and the Board of Investment.
