I arrive at bangkok on a bank holiday 12th Aug will this cause me any problems getting from the airport to Pattaya

Queens birthday. You should have no problem getting there although you may not be able to get a drink when you arrive.

Unless they have changed the law , all the bars will be closed.

For God's Sake, Bendix, you can always have sex. You just have a little trouble finding a drink!

Speak for yourself. I'm married.

Furthermore, at my age, a drink lasts longer than sex.

And don't forget you can also do your banking in sub branches (usually located in shopping centers and hypermarts), they never close and don't observe bank holidays.

Shortly after the coup they announced that bars from now on would be able to open on Royal Birthdays.
