‘Fake elector’ probes in 2020 swing states could spell more trouble for Trump

There were recent polls that showed people were buying into this stolen election bs in favor of DT, but the same polls showed his support would drop if he was convicted.  Yeah, these polls are easy to toss off, but they do provide a heads up for what may come.  Right-wing media is driving the sympathy.  And it's the only thing that will work for the MAGA agenda (ha-ha) to get him validly elected.  And getting himself back into the WH is crucial to pardoning himself and his cabal.  The only alternative would be taking the gov't by force, beginning with martial law on inauguration day.

Bringing this around to the current GOP primaries, I'm wondering about something along these lines: the GOP picks a candidate (by however means) other than DT, that candidate wins the general election, and the MAGA crowd "declares war" on the GOP in the run-up to the inauguration.

I don't think so. Trump is a coward and will bend over to get a pardon from the new president.

On Nov. 10, District Judge Amy Totenburg allowed a challenge to the accuracy of the Dominion ballot machines in Georgia.

https://apnews.com/article/voting-machines-georgia-lawsuit-cybersecurity-d8a4653211bf19c21d3b9dc2d59a7a61

“The Court notes that the record evidence does not suggest that the Plaintiffs are conspiracy theorists of any variety. Indeed, some of the nation’s leading cybersecurity experts and computer scientists have provided testimony and affidavits on behalf of Plaintiffs’ case in the long course of this litigation,” she wrote.

One report was filed by Alex Halderman, a computer science professor at the University of Michigan. His report, produced in 2021, said Georgia’s system “suffers from critical vulnerabilities that can be exploited to subvert all of its security mechanisms,” according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Halderman said anyone with physical access to a voting machine had the capability to alter votes on the machine, and that someone who accessed the election management system could do more than change one machine.

There appears to be a legitimate reason that Trump believed that the election was fraudulent. The evidence is only now being adjudicated and evidence will be brought to prove fraud. The trial will be overseen by Judge Totenburg, an Obama appointed judge, who believes that talk of the fraud being a conspiracy theory is not correct.

Good luck to Fulton county DA Fanni Willis because her entire Fulton County RICO case just blew up.

There were audits and hand recounts in Georgia, this maneuver won't go anywhere.

More to the point, even if there were minor irregularities, using illegal means to change the outcome is a crime.

Because you don't seem to know much about counting votes,  let me remind you that irregularities are discovered at the precinct level. That's why Trump acolytes never talk about precinct numbers. And that's why vote flipping is not a thing.

One question. If it fails again, will you still believe elections have been stolen?

The only question(s) you need to analyze and dwell on now is the evolution from:

!. can trump win the 2024 election

to

2. Can Trump be stopped now

Biden WILL NEVER win, that leaves MAGA victorious and in full command.

How many times can Trump go to prison?

If Trump wins in 2024, these state cases will be moot.

If Trump wins in 2024 (he will), the state cases are moot now, political lawfare and laughable on their face (SDNY Bragg) and nothing more,  and, just to clarify, executive privilege does not apply to pardons for state level offenses, that would be the governors domain, in concert w/wo DOC.

No reply, as expected. I guess it means that, as the other MAGA fans who got excited at the numerous previous lawsuits and audits about the 2020 elections, you believe their outcome only if it goes your way (which never happened so far).

1. Also per the AP:

"Halderman told The Associated Press in a phone interview that while he’s seen no evidence the vulnerabilities were exploited to change the outcome of the 2020 election..."

https://apnews.com/article/technology-business-science-voting-election-2020-6755cf1c409f4aab613df8891b84272d

You want an insecure voting system. Try this one that was hatched and carried out by allies of the former president and allegedly with his knowledge:

"It also led to the exposure of a breach of election equipment in a rural south Georgia county, which has resulted in criminal charges for several people as part of the sprawling Fulton County indictment against former President Donald Trump and 18 others."

...

"Halderman ... has said the risks presented by those vulnerabilities were exacerbated when a computer forensics team hired by Trump allies copied data and software from election equipment in rural Coffee County in January 2021 and distributed it to an unknown number of people."

https://apnews.com/article/voting-machines-georgia-lawsuit-cybersecurity-d8a4653211bf19c21d3b9dc2d59a7a61

"The plot to breach voting systems in Coffee County, coordinated by members of Trump’s legal team including Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell, is part of a broader criminal investigation into 2020 election interference led by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis."

On January 7, 2021, the day after rioters stormed the US Capitol, two people walked into an elections office in Coffee County, Georgia, a rural part of the state that voted overwhelmingly for Trump in 2020. A local election official helped them gain access to sensitive voting data which they downloaded onto a portable hard drive.

...

Last year, a former Trump official testified under oath to the House January 6 committee that plans to access voting systems in Georgia were discussed in meetings at the White House, including during a now infamous Oval Office meeting on December 18, 2020,  that included Trump.

https://www.cnn.com/2023/04/21/politics/trump-georgia-senate-breached-voting-data/index.html

Which led to criminal charges against the aforementioned Georgia county elections official:

MISTY HAMPTON

"She was the elections director in Coffee County. Hampton was present in the county elections office on Jan. 7, 2021, when a computer forensics team copied software and data from the county’s election equipment. She also allowed two other men who had been active in efforts to question the 2020 election results to access the elections office later that month and to spend hours inside with the equipment."

Are you okay?

I think that Nikki Haley would be hard for Biden to beat next year.

If the Georgia trial starts in August, and Trump's lawyers try to string it out past November, Trump won't be able to campaign. He is just going to sit in the courtroom every day.

But, by that time, barring a hung jury, Trump will have been convicted in the January 6 case, and so there will be more limitations on his activities.

Except for Georgia, where the governor does not have pardon power.

In fact there can be no pardon until Trump has served 5 years after conviction.

It would be interesting if Trump were convicted on the January 6 charges, released pending appeal, and then convicted in Georgia, say, in September 2024. I suspect that the judge would send him to state prison while waiting out the inevitable appeal, due to prior felony convictions.

At that point, there might be talk of violence in Georgia to free him.

Jack Smith may be illegitimate and if so, Jan 6 lawfare persecution of Trump goes away.

https://www.supremecourt.gov/DocketPDF/23/23-624/293864/20231220140217967_US v. Trump amicus final.pdf

All these attempts to subvert democracy because the deep state fears Trump and some voters hate him. That being the case, don't vote for Trump instead of trying to destroy the country.

Your internet masters have sent you some talking points, but have left you high and dry.

If the Supreme Court had the opinion that the Special Prosecutor were illegimate, they would have said he had no standing. Instead, the SC will wait for the Appeals Court to rule against Trump.

However, these delays will simply encourage prosecutors in states with fake electors to indict Trump, since he may be available for trials in 2024.

Trump doesn't need to campaign. His policies and aspirations are well known, and is there a single voter in the US that doesn't know if they will vote for him, or not?

He may not be able to take part in a debate, but if Biden is his opponent I doubt Biden's minders would allow him anywhere near a debate.

Trump is IMO not a flight risk, so why would the judge send him to jail where the requirements for Secret Service protection would be disruptive? More likely to be home detention.

Hater's wet dreams of Trump providing some "entertainment" for them in jail will likely never happen, because he is entitled to Secret Service protection.

Why would he be? Trump isn't on trial and if there was a provable connection to Trump he would be.

Trump is charged in Georgia with participating in a conspiracy that includes fake electors. One of Trump's lawyers involved in the fake electors scheme has flipped already, and can link Trump directly to the scheme.

Half of your posts imply that you don't know anything about Trump's crimes.
