July 17, 200718 yr I emailed 3 people on Skype to ask the call protocol to the US from Thailand. I got 3 different answers! * 008 + 1 + US area code and number. * 001 + US area code and number. * 66 + US area code and number. Can someone clarify for me? Cheers,
July 17, 200718 yr Calling from mobile you could either - * +1 US area code and number * 007 1 US area code and number (007 prefix activates cheaper calls via TOT from bt9) * 008 1 US area code and number (008 prefix activates cheaper calls via TOT Voip from bt6) from landline.. *001 1 US area code and number *007 1 US area code and number (007 prefix activates cheaper calls via TOT from bt9) *008 1 US area code and number (008 prefix activates cheaper calls via TOT Voip from bt6) CAT also offer a 009 service, but not sure on the cost Moved to tech forum totster
July 18, 200718 yr 66 is the Thailand Country Code. Instead of using 00 to first you can use + follow by the Country Code like: USA +1 1 ...... or +1 7 ....... and so on.
July 18, 200718 yr Check out the little flag icon next to the number field, where you enter the number you want to call, in Skype. Click on the map and a selection list pops up. It shows the prefix for each country as well.If you want to call the U.S., select the U.S. flag. The "+1" needed will be taken care of for you, and all you have to do is enter the three digit area code for the city and the seven digit number. They really improved the calling feature in recent versions.UC
July 18, 200718 yr From my AIS mobile, I always use 009-1-area code-local number. There is a charge for toll free numbers such as 800 or 888, same as long distance. Skype, I don't know. The single 1 (fourth digit in first sentence here) is the international country code for the USA.
