Electrical appliance repair in Chiang Mai?

Featured Replies

I've never tried to have electrical items repaired in Thailand, so no idea if it's practical or where to go.

I have a Samsung convection microwave oven which is less than 10 years old and not too much use. When you turn it on, it runs like it's working but there is no heating produced. So I'm guessing that there's just a single part that's dead.

Nyom Panich near airport plaza, go round the back of this very large appliance store and there's a maintenance and repair department that will repair most electrical items, very reliable. Next to the Toyota dealer (I think it is.)

Sure, but they don't repair microwaves. :))

It may not be worth repairing a microwave oven.

But if you want to make sure take it to Amorn outside the east moat. They have a large repair center and for 100-200 baht they will look it over.

I took mine to Samsung on the moat and they repaired it in 15 minutes.   Cost 54 baht!!

You mean the Samsung on the north side of the moat? I didn't know they did electrical appliance repairs there, I thought it was just Electronics.

Yep.  I rang Samsung care centre in bkk.  And they told me to take it there.   Good luck.

I had almost the exact same issue with my microwave last year. It would turn on, lights and all, but no heat. I was convinced it was something major, but it turned out to be the magnetron (basically the heart of the microwave) that had gone bad. I ended up getting it replaced, and it’s been working fine since.

If you’re in Thailand, finding a repair shop might be a bit different, but I’d suggest looking for places that specialize in Samsung or similar brands.

When I was figuring it out, I also reached out to visit site vanproappliance just to get some advice on what to look for, so I didn’t get overcharged. They were super helpful in breaking down what might be wrong.
