Driver Survives after Van Catches Fire in Chalong

Chalong – A driver has escaped injuries after fire gutted a van in Chalong.


Firefighters from the Chalong Municipality were notified of the fire at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday (December 10th) on the Chao Fah West Road in Chalong. They arrived at the scene with a fire engine to find the black van was heavily ablaze. It took about 15 minutes to control the fire.

 

 

The engine room and the inside of the van was damaged by the fire. The driver, whose name was not released by relevant officials, ran away from the fire and escaped injuries.

Had it happen to me a long time ago.

Coming home from work I filled up at a petrol station, drove another mile or so and it started missing..

I thought a dodgy fill-up or something in the carburetor, pulled over to the side of the road to have a look and watched in amazement as flames came up around the engine bay.

I bailed out. 

Car was a right-off MKII Cortina.
