He figures trump will either be in jail in November, or else lose again to Biden. A record stock market, low unemployment and solid GDP growth, along with high consumer confidence, bode well for Biden, and will be an influence in November when people finally walk into the voting booth. Polls in January mean little. Certainly this Biden economy dwarfs the disaster trump left behind (Recession, 6.8% unemployment). Having trump be the nominee means nobody from DeSantis/ Party will be an incumbent in 2028. If the Republicans could put up a rational candidate who might win, that would mean DeSantis couldn't run in 2028.
