Al Jazeera journalist reportedly moonlights as Hamas commander claims IDF

A laptop recovered during military operations in the Gaza Strip suggests that Mohamed Washah could be a prominent figure in Hamas’ anti-tank missile unit.

The Israel Defense Forces has claimed that a Palestinian journalist working for Al Jazeera is a Hamas commander, citing documents recovered by the military during operations in the Gaza Strip. “In the morning, he’s a journalist on the Al Jazeera channel, and in the evening, a terrorist in Hamas!” Lt. Col. Avichay Adraee, the IDF’s Arabic-language spokesman, tweeted on Sunday.

According to Adraee, troops operating in northern Gaza several weeks ago found a laptop at a Hamas base that belonged to Mohamed Washah, who has appeared in Al Jazeera broadcasts since the Oct. 7 massacre.

Information on the laptop showed that Washah, 37, from central Gaza’s Bureij neighborhood, is a “prominent commander” in Hamas’s anti-tank missile unit. In late 2022, he began working on research and development in the terror group’s air force.“Who knows how many details we will reveal about the presence of other terrorists in journalistic garb in the near future,” wrote Adraee.

This could be setting up a reason to assassinate him, though they have managed to kill off a fair few Al Jazeera reporters without an excuse in the past.

Or this could be you deflecting.

There was one other topic about Al-Jazeera 'reporters' being Hamas men.

There was an earlier one about Al-Jazeera (and other outlets) employing some of the 'reporters' joining the Hamas 7/10 attack.

He is a Hamas member and also a Al-Jazeera journalist .

He isn't being set up by anyone and if he dies , he will either be a terrorist or a journalist , that will depend on what side you sit on

Why would it be a joke, a deflection from the topic yes:

Head of Hamas' aerial forces killed in Israeli airstrike: Israel Defence Force

It may not be the most advanced air force in the world but it can still do serious damage as witnessed on 7th Oct

One can make up his mind regarding his words accordingly.

If the AJ reporter is also a Hamas operative, and that's not shared with the viewers/readers, then it's a different story.

Not too hard to understand.

Ref what I earlier said about israeli assassinations of journalists

An Al Jazeera correspondent and a photojournalist have been seriously injured in an Israeli airstrike that allegedly targeted the pair while they were working in Gaza.

According to the Doha-based news network, Ismail Abu Omar, one of its correspondents, and his camera operator, Ahmad Matar, were in northern Rafah where they were documenting the living conditions of displaced Palestinian families when they were directly targeted by a missile fired by a drone.

Were they terrorists too? That's similar to this incident that broke a month ago, two Al Jazeera journalists killed, they also turned out to be Hamas terrorists, Al Jazerra seems to be a very good employer for them.

IDF: Al Jazeera journalists were killed in car with drone-operating terror operative

The Israel Defense Forces responded late Sunday to reports of the deaths of two Palestinian journalists working for Al Jazeera in an Israeli airstrike in the southern Gaza Strip earlier in the day, saying the pair were traveling in a vehicle with a terror operative who was operating a drone.

In Sunday’s strike in Rafah, Hamza Wael Dahdouh, the son of Al Jazeera’s Gaza correspondent Wael Al-Dahdouh, and Mustafa Thuria, a video stringer for AFP who was also working for the Qatar-based TV outlet, were both killed. A third journalist, Hazem Rajab, was seriously wounded, Al Jazeera said.

https://www.timesofisrael.com/idf-al-jazeera-journalists-were-killed-in-car-with-drone-operating-terror-operative

Confirmed: journalists Hamza al-Dahdouh and Mustafa Thuria were members of Gaza-based terrorist organizations.

On Jan 7, an IAF aircraft directed by troops targeted the operators of a drone, posing a threat to our soldiers near Rafah. The operators were later identified as al-Dahdouh and Thuria.

Documents found by our troops in Gaza revealed Thuria’s role as Squad Deputy Commander in Hamas' Gaza City Brigade, as well as Al-Dahdouh’s roles in the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization’s electronic engineering unit and previously as a deputy commander in IJ’s Zeitun Battalion.

Anyone who actually bothered to read the OP would notice there's nothing regarding that in the OP.

So targeted terrorist killings and no more indiscriminate bombing, that's great.

I have posted a few times on AN that IMO Hamas is well and truly infiltrated into the Palestinian population, much more so than the Palestinian authorities would have you know, and also elsewhere it seems.

For me, I cannot condemn the IDF/Israel for what they are trying to do and as I've also said before, Hamas started a war and now they should be responsible for the consequences. It has always been that way in war and will probably be so for our lifetimes.

Hamas does not have an air force, so most likely does not have an 'air force' commander. How many of these piddly para-glider things did they have anyway - a handful.

Does it not seem a joke to you, that they are trying to call this an air force?

The topic is about an Aljazeera journalist who Israel claims is also a commander of Hamas' air force.

Pointing out that Hamas does not have an air force is on topic. Pointing out that Israel does not allow any journalists into Gaza, and targets the ones that are there is on topic.

There was a Hamas label/title referenced, are you denying it is used/exists?

It was reported that several Al-Jazeera 'journalist' took part in the 7th of October raid to document the massacre as well

as egging the terrorist on for job well done and as such, their faith shouldn't be better than the rest of

the hamas terrorists...
