Would it even be possible to endure this world without sik (sic) humour?

Hi Folks,

There is sick humour.

There is sik (sic) humour.

And, there is gallows humour.

Would it be possible to endure life without humor?

During the Blitz, most could not have endured without humour.

The world is spiraling down.

How does humor help you to cope, to remain cancer-free, and to deal with your shrew, if you have one?

There is just so much to cope with in this life, stuff we never bargained for, before we were born.

Sometimes, I wonder if it's worth it, just to propagate and help our species to survive.

It might not be worth it to us.

But, in the grand scheme of the human race to the finish line, some in the future might be thankful that we persevered, and propagated.

Most people, these days, continue to contemplate lying flat.

But, is this the right course of action, the correct thinking?

The people such as these, the ones who lie flat, just don't seem to have a sense of humor about the human race.

What about you?

Is this comedy of ours a comedy of errors, or a conglomeration of mistakes?

Humour is your best friend.

What, these days, do you find funny?

Is ANYTHING funny, these days?

There was a white horse; it fell in the mud.

Now...THAT....is.....

FUNNY.

Just depends upon your point of view.

Some, don't even HAVE  a point of view....and...know not....

Where they're going to.

There will come a time, when you succumb to dementia, a time when....you will really find humor....

Beyond your ken.

In my view, some guys here are ....

ALREADY THERE.....

They are nowhere men, I guess.

Think about it, because....

The day after tomorrow will be a Sunday.....

A time for reflection and introspection.

Best to you,

Gamma

I sometimes give a very little bow to the UK spelling of some words.

And, sometimes I give the UK spellings a wai.

Don't know why, though...

Perhaps you should spend less time pontificating. This will give you more time to recognise humour, with a u.  And that those you accuse of criticising and belittling you are being humorous. But you do not recognise or appreciate it. Being an English, Londoner born in 1933, I was raised on cockney humour. What else did we have. Without it we are nothing. Other than boring. Perhaps humour is dying out because we don't converse face to face as we used to, and recognise the nuances in facial expressions. Stop preaching, my friend and laugh, and the whole world laughs with you. Well, that's what the song says.

You actually made a post I respected, when you were trying to assist Sheryl with her fluorescent light problem. It had me wondering why Dr. Jekyll spends so much time in hiding.

Which do you prefer?

Hyde?

(Anyway, not to worry, because Dr. Jekyll spends much of most days helping others.  The question is: Will Hyde outlive Jekyll? Or, will both fall together....)

I think the general consensus is Hyde is a pestiferous poster of voluminous verbiage. Not that Hyde worries about public opinion.

False.

I can assure you that I DO worry about public opinion.  Or, worry, is the wrong word.  Conscientious Concern is more appropriate in this case.

You should follow my example.

If someone does not like my opinion, I have others.

I am too old to get my knickers in a twist worrying about what some cretin thinks of me.

There are no cretins on TV, in my honest opinion.

(Maybe only a few misunderstood individuals....)

Absolutely, I do not pay any attention to Trump.

What would be the point of doing so?

Trump can do his thing.

I will do my thing.

I will take the high road.

Trump will take the low road.

And, never the twain shall meet.

This guy just must be a Trump Man!

Don't you just HATE country bumpkins!?

And, there is no accord between Trump and the rest of the world, and there never was.

Trump appeals most to the country bumpkins of America, IMHO....

\

But...even though I will never return to America...

I would gladly go to Scotland or Ireland....

Much more preferably....

What about the full quotation and it's real meaning?

"Oh, East is East, and West is West, and never the twain shall meet,
Till Earth and Sky stand presently at God's great Judgment Seat;
But there is neither East nor West, Border, nor Breed, nor Birth,
When two strong men stand face to face, though they come from the ends of the earth!"

Such a nice sentiment.

Trump is definitely a Strong Man, if there ever was one.

Xi is also a Strong Man, if there ever was one.

They both come from the ends of the earth.

They both stood face to face, and they knew they were the same.

And, what is a strongman?

image.png.45e7d6463033bcfa8a154ff86d449590.png

Xi is the only one who can solve China's many problems, even though he, himself, is the problem

Trump may, in the end, solve all of the world's problems, in one fell swoop, or one full sweep.

Beware the strongmen....
