VinnieK Posted February 26, 2024 Posted February 26, 2024 So basically they are inspecting it. So much for all the 'salvage' talk that's been going on since it sunk.🤦♂️ 1

The US corvette class sunk with 3 meter waves with no Houthis in sight, a mystery that the Americans want to understand 😁 from Google: "A weather advisory for the area had been issued by the Thailand Meteorological Department, warning of 4-metre-high (13 ft) waves and advising ships to "proceed with caution".[9] She was caught in a storm on 18 December.[10] Seawater entering an exhaust port led to flooding and a heavy list, followed by a short circuit in the ship's electrical system and failure of the pumps.[11] This flooding caused the engines to fail, and the pumps became unusable." there were not enough life jackets on board the ship for the regular crew plus thirty extra people who were to take part in a ceremony, but that the chances of survival were the same with or without life jackets." A lot of failures that the US would like to understand with regard to the ship operations. But since when is survival the same with or without life jackets? Maybe Thailand needs to understand such a policy.

cowellandrew Posted February 26, 2024 Posted February 26, 2024 High seas ! I remember 19 meter waves went past the window as I was eating Christmas dinner, then pulling the rest of the anchor chain through the sub sea structures, Ah fun times
