I am talking specifically now about the irate swiss man in phuket and the publics reaction to it.

We all know that in any other country this kind of thing would never have even made the local news,

but here it’s blown up way out of proportion, and has even crossed the prime ministers desk!

It all just seems to me to have gotten way out of hand,

nobody was killed or seriously wounded, just a couple of fractured egos.

This place beggars belief sometimes,

if they hate foreigners so much then why let us in in droves in the first place?

just be open about your dislike and cancel all visas

problem solved.

This has become a witch hunt now and I for one feel bad for the swiss guy.

enough is enough.

I don't have one iota of sympathy of the Swiss man and his Thai wife.

They were totally wrong and on top of that physically abusive.

They get what they deserve.

Karma comes back 100 fold....

dont you think it has been blown totally out of proportion?

I didnt see the swiss kick or be physically abusive to anyone.

did you?

No big deal when Thais assault Thais or Thais assault farang. Big deal when farang do. It says a lot about the place.

exactly.

when farangs get murdered and beaten almost to death out here nobody bats an eye,

when a thai gets told to eff off all hell breaks loose!

it’s madness.

I've been living here for more than 20 years, never had any issues.

Sadly, I've had a few run ins with foreigners.

Worse thing about Thailand is some of the foreigners.

what about violent, drunk thais who fight mob handed?

what about various unsolved murders involving foreigner backpackers?

just because it doesnt happen to you doesnt mean it doesnt happen!

what I am saying is when a foreigner does something bad to a thai the whole country gets their knickers in a twist, but when a thai does something bad to a foreigner nobody gives a hoot.

Can you please list these Backpacker murders? I know there have been some murders, not aware of any unsolved. Also do remember that backpacker murders happen in many countries, the first one I heard of was the Jennifer Beard backpacker murder in New Zealand in 1969, the muderer was never found. As for the Swiss man, he started this action and so will reap what he sowed, seeing him on TV giving an excuse that he thought they were Chinese, even if they were is that an excuse for acting the way he did? If you have lived in Thailand for a long time, you should know how it works, best not to go looking for trouble.

Well reported on media here and in the UK early last year my mate was shot four times and killed in a road rage incident by an apparently well connected Thai who turned his self in to the Police and admitted his crime....the outcome was that he was given a 4 year prison sentence....reduced to two years as he admitted it....currently to my knowledge he is out on bail pending appeal.....so yes double standards without condoning what this Swiss man has done...he aught to be locked up for a few months.

Rubbish.

I would say there is more incidents of farangs biting grab drivers, kicking doctors, stabbing wives, punching air hostesses in the head etc than tourists getting assaulted by Thais.

nice people the Thais
