Popular Post webfact
In a recent incident reported by the user of the Facebook profile named Social Hunter Reborn V3, a young model faced harassment by a taxi driver after allegedly canceling the ride before its arrival. Picture: Siam Rath The model supposedly attempted to hail a taxi through a mobile application but changed her mind abruptly, leading to dissatisfaction on the part of the taxi driver, who allegedly attempted to coerce her into boarding the vehicle, reported Siam Rath. The model shared her side of the story, stating that she had called for a taxi via the app but later changed her mind, citing sudden changes in plans. This led to a confrontation where the driver demanded compensation for wasted time. The situation escalated when the driver allegedly attempted to forcibly take her into the taxi. Fortunately, bystanders intervened, preventing any further escalation. Picture: Siam Rath Following the incident, the news media reached out to the victim, identified as Miss Phalyakarn (surname withheld), 24 years old, who recounted the events of the morning of March 8th. She explained that she had initially called for a taxi to return home after dining at her elder sibling's house near Sukhumvit Soi 4. However, the driver became aggressive during a phone call, demanding a fee for his time. Despite the unpleasant encounter, she canceled the ride and chose not to use the service again. herfiehandbag
If she had cancelled prior to the taxi turning up, as it appears, the bad luck to the driver. Unless of course you are a thug and a bully... I'll bet the meter "doesn't work"! Edited March 13 by herfiehandbag 3 1
Popular Post KannikaP
If you book an hotel but decide to cancel at the last minute, you lose any deposit you have paid because the hotel could have trouble filling the room at short notice. Why not have a similar system for these taxis, when you pay a deposit when you book, refundable if you cancel within a certain, reasonable length of time. 6 2 4

We seem to have the reverse problem here on Samui. Driver accepts the app booking but does not show up. On the way to the pick up - they see another tourist. Tourist rip-off price v app price - goodbye app customer. NB Taxis have never used meters here in all of the time that they have been on the island. 2

Popular Post ryandb
Model? Everyone's a model these days Not condoning the drivers behaviour at all, I thought most Apps do charge for cancellations once the driver is on their way but if not it's only polite to give them something if they've made it all the way to you before changing your mind 1 1

Jonathan Swift
No point whatsoever to the story if the ride company isn't named. People have a right to know. The company needs to get its nose bloodied in order to clean up its act. Otherwise this is not the only time it will happen. These are big companies, they need big motivation. I speak from experience taking on companies from LAZADA merchants to the airlines to online hotel booking agencies.

The App companies have an option to cancel without penalties, including Uber, from whom your money gets returned to your card or whatever you used to pay. You usually give the reason for the cancellation. We don't know if she canceled via the app. But since the driver called first she most likely did. As to your comparison, these drivers have plenty of fares coming in all the time, he wouldn't have lost anything just moving on to the next fare. And his behavior was criminal, attempted kidnapping. In another country he would be in jail right now. All for the cost of a fare. 2

I have booked many rides on apps and it is not unusual after waiting for them they cancel on you and you have to try book another. What good for the goose as they say. 1
