snoop1130 Posted March 13 Share Posted March 13 The opposition Move Forward party is facing a tough case in the Constitutional Court, but will fight to the fullest to prevent the party from being dissolved for allegedly attempting to overthrow the Constitutional Monarchy, said party leader Chaithawat Tulathon today. He said that he hopes the court will hold an enquiry and give the party an opportunity to present evidence and witnesses to prove that they have no intention to overthrow Constitutional Monarchy with its campaign and proposed amendments of Section 112 of the Criminal Code, or the lèse majesté law. Chaithawat said that dissolving the party would not solve political problems, but may lead to the escalation of political conflict. He also warned against involving the Monarchy in political conflict, saying that this is a very sensitive issue and should be treated with caution. There will undoubtedly be attractive offers for members to jump ship early and save their skin, coupled with personal pressure on those who won't. It might be a close vote, but a Court whose members were appointed by the King is unlikely to vote for a party that seeks such reforms. They must be made to suffer if only to discourage pesky peasants from rising up again. People talk about the Army calling the shots but, if the 2 generals beginning with P who ostensibly ran the country for several years are anything to go by, the Army lacks basic nous to be able to do anything much. Designing the kind of complex laws that make progress impossible takes a certain kind of perverted genius to achieve. Working your way thru the thickets of political & financial corruption takes another kind of genius. Its a collective of chosen shadowy figures who meet in the protected inner sanctum of guilded halls under the veil of darkness. They have signed in blood to uphold their one mission and one mission only; to protect the source of their wealth and power at all costs. Sounds like somehting from Star Wars but its not! In my time here I have experienced varying degrees of competence and capability amongst the locals mostly leaning to the mid to lower end of the spectrum with some exceptions. However, when it comes money or power and even loss of face, their ability to pull off the impossible through shameless scheming, collusion and cunning knows no bounds. We're constantly told that the monarchy is above politics. So to suggest a political party seek an audience with the monarch would likely lead to immediate arrest and incarceration.
