2long
Last night my mate left his wallet in a taxi to his hotel. Hotel CCTV can't identify the taxi. If the taxi driver is a good honest guy and tries to return it but doesn't know who lost it, maybe he will take it to a local police station.... but local to where? Is there a national database or helpline where lost and found can be accessed? Thanks in advance.
Popular Post CharlieH
Have you contacted the report line for Taxis ? They may be able to broadcast and maybe he'll respond. You can report to the Land Transportation Department using the hotline number: 1584. Worth a try 2
flyingtlger
Have your friend talk to the front office manager or concierge, they should be able to direct you to the right sources...
Captain Monday
It happens to many people. Nearly every time I am in BKK I am approached by a well dressed Western man who lost a wallet and "just need a few hundred baht" for bus or taxi fare. Crossy
My ex-boss was a habitual loser of phones and wallets, invariably in taxis after a night out. He kept a card with his contact details in his wallet and had his contact details on his phone lock-screen. Never got one back! @2long I hope your mate gets his things back and didn't have too much critical stuff in his wallet. EDIT Yes, he was bright enough that the contact phone number listed was his condo. reception. But only after someone pointed out that calling the number on his phone screen made the phone ring 1
Captain Monday
Maybe for the future. I got this wallet holder for an AirTag to keep in wallet. “Saved my bacon” once
Dolf
How do you lose a wallet in a taxi though? You take it out to pay, you put back in pocket then get out. I always check wallet and phone before getting out.
