1st international flight I went on was from NZ to Fiji.  It was the only overseas trip that the whole family  went on (Parents and 6 kids).  I was 12 and I'll never forget the take off from Auckland.

1976 on a Mcdonald Douglas DC10.  My I thought it was the most powerful plane.... Youthful exuberance?

Loved the bullet in the tail.

Anti-Boeing Yank.  Good thing you'll never "have it your way"

So an American has to be loyal to Boeing no matter it's criminal incompetence or malfeasance? What a weird bunch you Yanks can be. Very misplaced patriotism above all else.

This thread was about Thai Airways retiring its 747 aircraft, it has used successfully since the first plane was delivered in 1979.

Thai Airways used the Boeing 747-400 for both passengers and cargo, and also operated the older variants 747-300 and 747-200.

Some seem to want to turn the thread, into an anti Boeing rant, but there are a few other threads going already, with lots of details, about the current Boeing situation.

So to if anyone want to understand aviation safety, attached is the latest annual safety analysis issued by both Boeing and Airbus, based on the data.

I was only told the sale of the A380's was blocked by the courts. Wasn't told much more than that.

Unfortunately no source that I can link to or post here, so take it with a pinch of salt.

Seems they have been sold, saw this reported, that on 12 May, Thai CEO Chai Eamsiri stated.

“Thai Airways International (THAI) announced the successful completion of the sale of its entire fleet of 18 retired aircraft, comprising six Boeing 777-200s, six Boeing 777-300s, and six Airbus A380s.”
