Can't Hibernate Laptop

Featured Replies

Even though all my applications are closed, and the Microsoft update icon is not appearing, I cannot hibernate due to error message :

The service 'Microsoft.NET Framework v1.1.4322 Update' is preventing the machine from entering hibernation. Try stopping this serviceand try again.

So, how do I do what they ask? Thanks.

I had the exact same error last week and could not hibernate my laptop

I had to uninstall .net before it would hibernate again

Go to Start button. Choose "Control Panel" and then "Administrative Tools". Then "Component Services". That will bring up another box. Click on "Services (Local)". Look for "Microsoft .NET Framework v1.1.4322 Update" in the list. Right click brings up a sub menu. Choose properties. On the Startup type box it should sat "Automatic". Choose "Disable" and OK to exit. You may have to reboot. Problem solved. You can now go into standby or hibernate.
