There's a strange and unsubstantiated rumour floating around the sois that someone rang the Australian embassy from one of the far flung provinces and successfully negotiated the minefield of phone menus, was not hung up on and actually got to speak to a human being.

Sorry if I've wasted people's time on what is probably arrant nonsense.

Yes, the rumor is true, and the human being you eventually get to speak to is based in an Indian call center.

Actually it has been proven that there are no humans in australia... so no.
