Well yes and no I remember briefly interest rates of 13% in the UK after Black Wednesday when the UK attempted to peg the pound to the Euro and started a capital flight. Ukraine of course is bust - if foreign capital inflows were to  stop the economy would totally collapse along with goverment salaries. A magnitude 2.8 earthquake was recorded in Toropets after a drone attack on an ammunition depot

After that there were 7 more tremors with magnitudes from 2 to 2.8.

The giant ammunition depot continues to detonate. Google maps satellite imagery shows hundreds of crates that look like ammunition lying in the open.

My post and it's qoute actually praises Ukraine's efforts to reduce corruption and highlights the efficiency of US oversight in helping it on that path.

If true about the Iskanders et al then Russia would be well advised to store high value items next to nuclear facilities , reactors or missile sites. One does idly wonder if this was indeed a multiple drone strike or some more sophisticated missile either a  home made Ukrainian or a 'hacked' western one  - where western minders conveniently look the other way.  We will probably never know for sure. But a huge hit for sure and a major Ukrainian success.

It was multiple drones as reported multiple times by both Ukraine and Russia, I don't buy your takes especially when they veer into conspiracy theories.

Well if true then the lack of even basic AD around such an important site points to sheer complacency and incompetence of the base command who must have felt safe so far from the border.A huge amouint of drones would overwhelm anything but the most sophisticated defence which they obviusly don't have,  Apparently the General responsible for that storage was under investigation already assuming he survived the attack which is doubtful given it's size and ferocity.

The important thing to note is that these are loans secured on the assett with an expectation that Ukraine will pay them back in an orderly fashion. It would appear the West falters at the thought of seizing Russian assets unilaterally and disbursing the money directly lest other autocratic investors take umbrage and divest from the dollar/euro areas.  Looks like sub prime loans that ended boomeranging back onto central banks , clever financial instruments seldom are in the end.

 

It is nothing of the sort. EU efforts to use Russian funds are being stymied by the cuckoo in the nest, Orban.

My moneys on the Paliantysia - whose very features re ammo dump are mentioned in this video and the fact they negate the need for ATACMS or other long range western tech.
