A major accident involving a heavy-duty truck being driven by a fatigued driver happened on a highway near Pattaya yesterday morning. This tragic incident resulted in two deaths and several injuries. The accident occurred around 8.40 am in the Nong Pla Lai area, Banglamung district, Chon Buri province, on the Pattaya-bound Highway 7.

Emergency responders from Sawang Boriboon were the first to arrive at the scene. They found that the heavy-duty truck, which was carrying cement sheets, had crashed into a roadside shop. The truck's driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road, hitting a pickup truck, two motorbikes, two power poles and then the shop. The accident created widespread destruction with debris scattered all over.

Five injured people were promptly given medical assistance. Emergency responders had to pull out the trapped driver from the wrecked truck. All the injured victims were then taken to Banglamung Hospital for additional medical treatment. One woman among the injured was severely hurt, with her two legs reportedly crushed by the truck.

Sadly, two women died in the accident, a 25-year-old named Sirinthorn Muangton and a 17-year-old girl, whose name has not been revealed due to her age. Both victims were employees in the shop and were standing in front of the shop on their motorbike when the truck hit, tragically killing them.

The driver of the heavy-duty truck, a 50-year-old man named Rung Saengkhamchu, confessed to falling asleep while driving due to inadequate sleep. He only suffered minor injuries and expressed his deep regret for the tragic accident.

Police are further investigating the accident to ascertain its exact cause and are set to charge Rung for his careless behavior which led to this devastating incident.

OK start the prison sentence at 40 years, and the compensation from the company and 20 million each

Manslaughter will do nicely.

Why can’t the 17 year old be named, since she is dead? No one bothered to inform her parents yet?

Maybe let them grieve in private first?

It was an accident.

No intent to kill anyone or smash his truck.

He might have been a contractor so no company to pay your 40 million.

Cost of living is fatigueing many these days just to put food on the table. Probably a hard working decent man who would be feeling terrible now.

The driver is still guilty of manslaughter though.
