No "Legal Miracles" for Thaksin and Yingluck, Says Former Deputy PM

Wissanu Krea-ngarm, Thailand's former Deputy Prime Minister, has put to rest rumours that he may create "legal miracles" to assist Thaksin Shinawatra or Yingluck Shinawatra in their ongoing legal battles. Speaking today, Wissanu said categorically that he is unable to alter the course of justice for either of these high-profile figures.

Maybe not him but I bet my Left one someone will/Try  or already did.

He may not, but somebody sure paved the way for him to return to Thailand, spent a couple of hours in "custody" before being transferred to his luxury hospital bed where he was being treated for life

I didn't say anything about the crimes being invented.

My point was, and still is, those behind the charges were even bigger criminals.

Agreed.

Not lethargic. Sensible.

They go to gaol if they protest.

Which option would you take if you were Thai?

Plenty of examples in the last few years.

And that is where Thaksin will end up again.

A lot of the 'crimes' against him and his family are political. Same as section 112.

Same for Pita (and others).

Same for anyone who stands for the Thai people.

You have to be very brave (and wealthy) to take on the really corrupt folk here - the ultra rich and the military.

Nothing will change while people don't change...

En-mass protests what would the government do.. jail thousands?

Possibly before the end of the year !

Thaksin has already been the subject of a "Legal Miracle" by avoiding jail on his return from  "The Wilderness"!

However he soon recovered due to the expert treatment of Thailands finest Doctors, returning home in a neck brace and arm sling to recuperate during his parole.. which were soon removed to further prove miracles do happen in Thailand.

Since then he's been gallivanting around the country, fine dining with the PM and other politicians, having chats with Hun Sen his best friend from Cambodia and trying to sort out Myanmars problems.. not bad going for a man on parole.

So is that in itself not some kind of "Legal Miracle"?

It would be for any "Average Joe"!

When there's an election I'm hoping that Khun Pita's Move Forward party again wins a very number of seats.

Let'' wait and see and more interesting what will the powers that be do this time to push Move Forward away?

Seems to me that the powers that be can't continue to do this forever.

Also in the picture is the end result of forming a new senate membership.

Wissanu Krea-ngam: "Man of all seasons in Thai politics," May 28, 2024, https://www.nationthailand.com/news/politics/40038374

  • After the May 22, 2014 coup, Wissanu was appointed as an advisor to the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO), then became Deputy PM in charge for legal affairs for the post coup government under junta-leader and post-coup premier, General Prayut Chan-o-cha
  • After the 2019 general election, Wissanu was appointed deputy prime minister once again under the Prayut government.

The army might shoot them of course  as they did before. I wonder who Thaksin would blame if that happened.  I doubt even he would try to blame Abhisit and Suthep this time.

Total nonsense. Everyone knows he struck a deal with the corrupt army, when they sold out the party.

If Pita and the MFP party are dissolved by the CC then the people must rise up to protest the decision..

If they don't things will never change, and forget abut any democratic election in 2027.

Srettha will have been side-lined by then, a Thaksin friendly PM brought in, Yingluk brought back

and another hand picked senate in place.

Wash and repeat.

Thailand would go bankrupt.

By now, everyone in Thailand knows that Thaksin and his clan are a bunch of crooks and yet, they're allowed to continue to

meddle in the country political affairs, make statements and pull strings with the patronage and backing of major

political figures which begs the question: dose Thailand want to be viewed as a  banana republic or can it do better with the

right people and step away from crooked, self-serving has beens?...

A few thousand adults out on the streets in front of government house would pose a big problem for the government and crooked EC, CC etc..

Picking off a handful of students is too easy for them.

Wissanu Krea-ngarm is coming to the rescue whenever the proverbial "*ç%ç%"* hits the air movement device - how nice of him! He also got entrusted to teach the prime minister on how to do his job.

One would have thought the extremely corrupt removal of Pita and his replacement with a cabinet that the foul and super toxic army is participating in, after 9 incredibly incompetent years of rule, would have caused the people to rise up, would have caused a massive gnashing of teeth and would have caused millions of people to have taken to the streets.

No Such Thing took place.

It's already at that level and arguably worse.

It's just better at pretending.

That never happened last time though so I'm not sure it would now, whatever we may wish.
