Starting tomorrow, the fare prices for Bangkok's Blue Line MRT subway service, also known as the Chaloem Ratchamongkhon Line, will rise by 1 to 2 baht. The highest fare will now be 45 baht, up from the earlier maximum fare of 43 baht. The Bangkok Expressway and Metro Public Company Limited (BEM) confirmed this news and stated that the change will remain in place until July 2, 2026.

The decision to raise the fares is an attempt to balance the costs of operation while keeping public transportation affordable. Despite the slight increase, discounts of 50% are still available for children and the elderly. At the same time, students continue to receive a 10% fare discount.

The Blue Line MRT is not just another travel option, but a vital link for commutes around Bangkok. The BEM will keep the new prices valid for the next three years. The increase in fares is seen as a minor adjustment that will support the future growth and expansion of the network.

The company will also keep a close eye on this fare structure to make sure it suits public needs. Though the increase in price seems minor, it will still affect daily travelers who frequently use the train service, but it's necessary for the network's continuous operation and development.
