The Thai Trade Centre in New York has launched a campaign to encourage US residents to share their love for Thai food on social media. Participants stand a chance to win a trip to Thailand valued at up to $5,000.

The campaign, named "Love Thai Food, Eat Thai Rice", is designed to promote Thai Hom Mali Rice in the US market. This is being done through the social media handle @EatThaiRice.

The campaign is initiated by the Director of the Thai Trade Centre, Ketsuree Vijaranakorn. She is enthusiastic to introduce Thai Hom Mali Rice to the US market. She acknowledges the widespread appreciation for Thai food in America.

Ketsuree stated that their objective is to reach new people and teach them about the various qualities and unique properties of Thai rice. She hopes that this campaign will raise consumer awareness about the diverse and rich flavors of Thai food and Thai rice.

Winners of the campaign will be awarded a package that includes a trip for two to Thailand, an airfare credit of $2,000, and a two-night stay, with dinner for two. Additionally, the winners will get a round trip to Hua Hin, with a two-night stay, including a Thai dinner for two.

Participants who wish to join the contest will need to follow official social media accounts @EatThaiRice on Instagram and Facebook by July 28th. They are required to post a photo or video cooking a Thai rice dish or enjoying Thai rice at a restaurant. To be eligible, entrants must include the hashtag #EatThaiRice in their caption and tag a friend.

Winners will be named on August 1 via the @EatThaiRice Instagram and Facebook accounts.

That rice was sold in the US, in the 1990's. First at Asian marts like Viet Wah or Uwajimaya. By mid to late 90's the suburban yuppie marts had it.

Perhaps repeated 'misunderstandings' with high grade Thai rice bags (Thai Hom Mali Rice)  filled with a lower grade of rice, reported a couple times on old Thaivisa, has taken a toll. Otherwise no need to introduce, just make sure the buyers get the product they paid for.

I could be wrong but the food in the pic looks like Pad Thai, no rise in that meal.

Too funny ...

... I await the Thai Seafood Association news-blip with a nice Prime Rib photo showing ... :coffee1:
