Former MP Mongkolkit Suksintharanon of the Thai Civilised party was declared guilty of severe ethical misconduct by the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC). The ruling was issued due to Mongkolkit's decision to take a group of students to see a Thai film titled “4Kings”, two years ago.

Mongkolkit, now a member of the Democrat Party, was shocked by the ruling. He said the NACC had not informed him about the accusation nor invited him to defend himself. Mongkolkit claimed that he brought the students to see the movie at 5.40 pm, after the Lower House had shut at 4.30pm. He added he had asked for leave from 2 pm to get ready for his meeting with the students.

Mongkolkit is determined to determine whether the NACC followed the correct procedure during the investigation into his actions. He also pledged to take his case to the Administrative Court to seek a fair ruling.

In light of the guilty verdict, the NACC plans to present the case to the Supreme Court's Criminal Division for Political Office Holders. Their goal is to seek a political ban on Mongkolkit.

We say you're guilty then you're guilty. Same goes for Pita and MFP. Decisions are supplied and ruled upon as such, not come to through a fair and balanced judicial process.

He has founded an anti-corruption NGO. I guess the NACC doesn't like competition from real anti-corruption organisations.

They would probably be firmly in his sights.
