Long-Stay Visa ID Cards For Foreigners

To get a pink card, you typically need to have a yellow book or to be listed in a Thai person's blue book. The majority of foreigners don't have that.

Also, the main purpose of the ID card mentioned by the OP appears to be to provide verification of your valid visa status as per the subject of the topic "Long-Stay Visa ID Cards For Foreigners". The pink card doesn't provide that.

permission to stay is clearly stated in ones passport, no further evidence required,

Sure. I would get one. And if it provided certain discounts, like access to national parks at local entry fee prices, then it could be even better.

So not just an ID card then but something similar to a supermarket loyalty card.....  dream on . Or go buy an equally spurious" Elite visa"

I'm from the UK. we have, so far, managed to avoid this intrusion into our lives , (up to now at least). I am in no rush to be forced to carry an ID card here or anywhere else. I don't generally carry

Not to make the ID card mandatory, but as an option for foreigners who would like to have it and then not have to carry around their passports, or any other form of identification, to prove that they are present in Thailand on a valid vis

It is not a requirement to carry ones passport this has been discussed many times on here.

You've already been wrong twice and now your grasping at straws. image.gif.59b0ac78f4e97388042c0e0740b2a318.gif

not wrong and not grasping at anything, just incredulous that people would actually dream up ideas like this.

Yes.  No stupid plastic card, ergo no bank account, no rental accommodation, no employment.

Have you thought of applying for a job at UK Border Patrol ?   Looks like you would fit in well.

Bro, you sound like you're melting down. Try cutting back on the booze and get back on your meds.

Great idea, but unlikely to happen for many eons.

Some expats can get a Pink Card, but one has to be registered on a household document.

I have been here for over a decade, have rented two houses during this period, and have no intention of marrying a local.   Thus, cannot get a Pink Card, according to my local district office..

If my grandmother had wheels she would have been a bike.
