King's Birthday. Alcohol Sales?

URGENT.

Wife is trying to keep me at home tonight, insisting that a local decree has banned all alcohol sales tonight because it is the King's Birthday. I cannot find any proof of this . Is she correct?

It's NOT a Buddhist holiday.  Your wife is misinformed.

Of course it is quite possible that a "local decree" has been made.  Whilst it may go against the actual law/rules it is quite possible, I've experienced this myself.  Best way is to pop out and see if the pubs are open, or relent and sh*g the wife instead.

Why do you want to go out and get hammered on a Sunday night if your wife wants you to stay home?

If I care to go out and have a beer and conversation with friends it is my business.
