Popular Post snoop1130 Posted July 29, 2024 Popular Post Posted July 29, 2024 Thailand's State Railway (SRT) had to shut down the country's longest train tunnel shortly after its launch on Sunday, due to a dust issue. This was in response to passengers' complaints about excessive dust within the tunnel, leading to a scheduled 14-day cleaning operation. The Chief of SRT's governor's office, Ekarat Sri-arayanpong, stated the issue was identified when passengers traveling northeast raised complaints about the heavy dust as the train traveled through the Pha Sadet tunnel in Saraburi province. Based on these complaints, SRT instructed the contractors responsible to clean the tunnel within two weeks. The tunnel, which stretches 5.4 kilometers, is part of SRT's new double-track railway towards the Northeast, and was inaugurated on Sunday. SRT anticipates the tunnel will be ready for use again by August 12th. Sri-arayanpong explained that the dust was originally cleared from the tunnel before the launch, but later winds blew dust back into the interior. In the meantime, northeastern trains have reverted to using their previous route from Map Krabao station through Pha Sadet and Hin Lap stations to Muak Lek station. This old route covers 18 kilometres and typically takes a train 32 minutes to traverse. In comparison, the new route through the tunnel between Map Krabao and Muak Lek is only 14km long and takes approximately 15 minutes. -- 2024-07-29 - Cigna offers a variety of health insurance plans designed to meet the minimum requirement for medical treatment coverage, with benefits reaching up to THB 3 million. BE88 Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 They forgot that when a construction site is finished, it needs to be cleaned up. 1

It's considered a waste of time, you can make good money in this time. (BTW very different from Thai culture)
john donson Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 they should have added this in the apple ad.. or the outrage over the ad... 1 1

Even by Thai standards, this has to be one of the most ridiculous excuses I've ever heard. "Winds blew dust" into the middle of a tunnel that's 5km long? And if somehow that utterly implausible scenario were true, won't the same thing keep happening again after every cleaning? 🙄 1 1 2 1
Georgealbert Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 Here are a few pictures from inside the tunnels, before the trains were allowed through.
cowellandrew Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 To contractors Easy solution break out the covid masks! Close the windows on the train! 😁😁
RayWright Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 Can't really tell from the long video in terms of side extraction, but the 14 pairs of jet fans along the length of the 5.4km tunnel seem inadequate, plus they look more like fire dispersal jet fans than ventilation fans, so not in regular action moving longitudinally the air and dust or train exhaust gases. Me thinks the fact that non sealed trains are used on that line has been overlooked! Clearing the dust will require a team of "Fluffers", as they do nightly across the Underground in London.
