A respected monk, known for his significant work at a renowned temple in Lampang, sadly died due to electrocution in his room. Seventy five-year-old Luang Pu Sa-ad Kusoljittho was discovered next to a therapeutic device, which is suspected to have caused the unfortunate incident.

The report of the troubling event reached Kokha Police Station at around 9:35 am today, July 31. Representatives from Kokha Police Station, forensic doctors from Kokha Hospital, and volunteer rescuers quickly arrived at the site - the Santinikom temple, located in Moo 2, Mai Pattana community, Kokha region, Lampang province.

Upon reaching, the police found Luang Pu Sa-ad lifeless in his room. First evaluations suggest that he died less than an hour before they found him. There were no signs of intrusion or criminal activity, and the therapeutic device nearby is believed to have led to the electrocution. The device is now with the police for further examination.

Both his followers and students deeply mourn Luang Pu Sa-ad's death. He was famously known for creating the Hell City within the temple and devoted his life to Buddhism and the growth of his local community. On July 15, 1997, at the age of 48, Luang Pu Sa-ad became a monk at the Cham Saai Moon Temple in Pong Yang Khok, Hang Chat district, Lampang, under the guidance of Phra Kru Phiphat Silachan.

During his religious life, he committed himself to safeguarding and sharing Buddhist teachings. His dedication can be seen in the many religious buildings and fixtures across the temple. He played a crucial role in building the Phra Maha That Chulamani Buddha Chedi with its nine peaks, and creating an underground Hell City exhibition. This exhibition teaches visitors about karma and the outcomes of their actions, promoting the Buddhist teachings of doing good deeds and avoiding bad ones.

Thanks to these unique educational features, the temple gained recognition, drawing in a high number of visitors. Alongside the Hell City, other notable creations of Luang Pu Sa-ad include a large standing Buddha statue showcasing the Abhaya Mudra (the gesture of fearlessness) and the Dharma History Building.
