War against terror update and new US/Israel aid mechanism starts Monday

IDF aims to capture 75% of Gaza Strip in 2 months in new offensive against Hamas
Palestinians to be pushed into three small zones, as new aid delivery mechanism set to start Monday; military says no change to collateral damage policy in airstrikes, the Israel Defense Forces said Sunday that it aims to occupy 75 percent of the Gaza Strip’s territory within two months as part of its new offensive against the Hamas terror group.

Israel on March 18 resumed its attacks against Hamas with a surprise wave of airstrikes, ending a two-month ceasefire. The IDF has since deployed five divisions to the Strip — amounting to tens of thousands of troops — and is poised to launch a wide-scale ground offensive aimed at defeating Hamas’s military wing and its civil rule in Gaza, should the terror group not agree to release the hostages it is holding.

Israeli strikes killed at least 40 people in the Gaza Strip on Monday, including 25 in a school-turned-shelter that was struck as people slept, igniting their belongings, according to local health officials. The military said it targeted militants operating from the school.

The strike on the school in the Daraj neighborhood of Gaza City also wounded more than 55 people, said Fahmy Awad, head of the ministry’s emergency service. He said a father and his five children were among the dead.

Why does Hamas keep hiding in shelters? They need to be completely eliminated, they are evil and their own people want them out. As ex former hostage Agam Berger just said to French FM.

Former Israeli hostage Agam Berger told French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot that “diplomatic solutions” to ending Israel’s war with Hamas will not work, in a meeting with the top French diplomat in Paris on Friday.

“They don’t want [to live] ‘together.’ All of these diplomatic solutions… it’s not going to work because it’s us or them,” Berger said in Hebrew during the meeting, seeming to reference the Hamas terror group, in a clip shared by the Kan public broadcaster.

The Israeli Air Force carried out over 200 strikes in the Gaza Strip over the past 48 hours, the military says.

The IDF says the targets included terror operatives, weapon depots, anti-tank and sniper positions, tunnel shafts, and other infrastructure.

In southern Gaza, the military says troops struck a building used by Hamas as a weapons depot, an observation post, and another structure used by the terror group. Troops also directed drone strikes on several operatives spotted in buildings near the forces, the IDF says.

In northern Gaza, the IDF says a strike carried out by a fighter jet destroyed a building where members of Hamas's Nukhba force were operating.

CAIRO (Reuters) -Hamas has agreed to a proposal by U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff for a Gaza ceasefire, a Palestinian official close to the group told Reuters on Monday, paving the way for a possible end to the war with Israel.

"The proposal includes the release of ten living Israeli hostages held by Hamas in two groups in return for a 70-day ceasefire and a partial withdrawal from the Gaza Strip," the source said.

The proposal also sees the release of a number of Palestinian prisoners by Israel, including hundreds serving lengthy prison terms.

A Palestinian official, no source name. in other words Hamas. Either way a complete lie. You can expect nothing less from the evil terrorists.

“Speaking to The Times of Israel, Witkoff flatly denies the Palestinian official’s claim.

He then refers to a statement he issued to the Axios news site in which he denied claims from Hamas officials that the terror group had accepted his proposal for a ceasefire.

“What I have seen from Hamas is disappointing and completely unacceptable,” he said then.”

The UN's top human rights official, Volker Türk, has said that Israel's military actions in the Gaza Strip are no longer covered by the principle of self-defence under international law.

We are talking about "an expulsion that is highly, highly questionable," Türk said on Austrian radio, referring to the effect of the war on the civilian population.

"What we have witnessed in recent months has nothing to do with respect for the fundamental principles of humanity," said Türk, who holds the title of UN high commissioner for human rights,  "You can't really find any more words to describe what is happening."

The above from another UN official  :clap2:

Also from a UN official, more lies. Claiming there are 10,000 trucks of aid waiting............

We've been patient with your media circus, but your lies just keep coming:

There are no 10 thousand trucks waiting to go into Gaza. What there are, are hundreds of trucks' worth of aid the @UN
hasn't picked up from the Gazan side over the last few days, after we gave you plenty of routes you can use to safely distribute the aid throughout the entire Gaza.

You are using a humanitarian difficulty and causing a worse one, one that isn't serving your "humanitarian principles".

Meanwhile, more terrorists wiped out.

The IDF says it eliminated a cell of terror operatives who launched several mortars at troops during operations in the northern Gaza Strip today.

According to the military, several mortars were fired at troops of the 401st Armored Brigade, without causing any injuries. After just one minute, the troops identified the cell behind the attack, which had withdrawn to a building.

The troops then called in an airstrike on the building, the IDF adds.
