I have put this in the Health section rather than say the Pattaya or Bangkok forum

 

However I'm aiming to use a hospital in those areas .

 

I'm looking for "package" health checks that checks everything?

 

I want your "experience" of any you may have used 

 

What is important is chest X rays , heart checks included

I want the heart check ( in the machine) that looks at your arteries , unfortunately a Echocardiography doesn't do that 

 

I do realise Bangkok Pattaya hospital have these I think around 23k 

 

Also can anyone advise re the heart check laying in the machine ....did you get claustrophobic,a work colleague once told me he had a heart scan in these machines and the "roof" of the machine practically touched his nose !!!

 

Your experience please ,were they much good ?

Can't recommend anything you're looking for (heart check up) as not going that complete.   Though I will be getting one shortly, and I believe the heart test you want is CAC scan.

 

I've had CT & MRI scans, and had no issue, but I'm not claustphobic.   You could use eye mask and headphones (though they will play music, if available) to be relaxed during the procedures.  Out of sight, out of mind 

 

Options abound in Bangkok, along with wide range of pricing.   I've had check ups at Camillian Hosp. (Thong Lo) every year or so, before moving to PKK.  But not the CAC scan or heart check up (stress test).   Well priced check ups, and you'll have all your cancer marker #s for future comparison, if doing yearly or every so often.  They're not much help for first time, unless way off the charts, then you might want some further test.

 

Need to do a short fast (15 ish hrs) before check up, including avoiding sex, couple days before.

The blood tests etc liver , I get done monthly in Australia for free under Medicare so don't really need those .

My PSA and liver are good 

 

What I need is chest X rays , heart artery test in that machine

I had a complete medical check-up a couple of years ago at Bangkok Pattaya Hospital.  It was very detailed, and I was impressed with the whole thing.  After all the tests, I was sat down with a doctor who went over every test with me, in perfect English.  He also mentioned if anything further was recommended.  It was around 16K Baht then.  On the BPH website today, The Healthy Choices pages shows the same package as I had for 14,990 Baht.

 

The checkup pointed to the need for me to see a cardiologist for further examination.  The additional exam was a Cat Scan to determine the degree of plaque in coronary arteries (256-slice CT Heart Scan + analysis cost 13K Baht).  I'm extremely happy that I had it done and am now on one additional medication to safeguard my heart health.  (The BPH cardiologist I saw came highly recommended and I would suggest you use him also.  You can PM (personal message) me if you'd like his name.)

 

So, what you are looking for would be the Healthy Choices package plus the CT mentioned, at a total of about 28K Baht.  In my opinion, well worth it!

 

In the CT Scan, your entire body is not in a tunnel.  The machine is a large "doughnut"-shaped affair.  I didn't feel claustrophobic.
