Body Found Stuffed in Fertiliser Sack, Police Investigate Possible Link to Triple Murder
Picture courtesy of Khoasod. Police in Songkhla province have launched an investigation after discovering the body of a man stuffed inside a fertiliser sack and dumped in woodland beside a road. The gruesome find has prompted concerns of a possible link to a brutal triple murder in the same area two years ago. The body was found on 8 February, near the entrance to a rubber plantation along the Asia Highway in Moo 10, Tha Chang subdistrict, Bang Klam district. Investigators, led by Police Lieutenant Colonel Somjai Suwankit of Bang Klam Police Station, responded to the scene alongside forensic officers, local rescue teams, and medical personnel from Bang Klam Hospital. Upon arrival, officers discovered the remains of a thin-built man wrapped in a white fertiliser sack. His right wrist had been bound with blue nylon rope, and he was dressed in long tracksuit trousers but no shirt. Forensic experts estimated that he had been dead for approximately four to five days. The body was found by a local worker who had stopped at the site for the first time and noticed a strong odour. On closer inspection, he saw a tightly secured sack and suspected it contained a human body, prompting him to alert the authorities. Initial investigations suggest the victim may have been an undocumented Myanmar migrant who was murdered elsewhere before being dumped at the site. Authorities are particularly concerned by the similarities between this case and a previous incident on 15 March 2023, when three bodies were discovered together in woodland approximately 200 metres from Lopburi Ramesuan Road, also in Tha Chang. In that case, the victims’ hands were similarly bound, and the method of disposal closely resembles this latest discovery. Police are now urgently reviewing evidence and searching for potential links between the two crimes. The body has been taken for further examination at the hospital as investigators continue to gather leads and work to solve the case. -- 2025-02-09 -
